Keeping Kids Safe
Make sure wherever you send your kids there are trusted adults
Even if there are trusted adults, sometimes that’s not enough
Signs of abuse
Your child repels or recoils when you go to touch them this is a sign of abuse physical, and mental or sexual
Your child wants to spend inordinate amounts of time with another adult and it seems inappropriate or if they don’t want to go anywhere near a certain adult, that is also a sign that there is some kind of mental or physical abuse.
Please talk to your kids. Communication is key. You’re the parent you know when something is off or bothering your child you have got to get it out of them. Always make sure the lines of communication are always open and they can say whatever they want to you without fear of repercussion.
Parents should drop in unexpectedly to children’s activities just to make sure everything is on the up and up and what’s supposed to be going on in that activity is actually what’s being done, especially at SCHOOL ACTIVITIES!
Any change of behaviour, it may be subtle, but it’s a distinct change in their behaviour, especially with withdrawing from activities withdrawing into themselves is a sign they need to be talked to, ask them about school ask them about their friends God forbid ask them about their mother or father if you are divorced, because it might not be your previous spouse, but it could be someone they have in their lives that could be a problem. Always think all angles.
Hiding clothes, using clothing to cover up body parts is a sign of, and missing clothes are all very bad signs that you need to recognize. Also, do they have knowledge, especially of a sexual nature that is way beyond their years?
Also take note of children that never have enough to eat, always wear disheveled or dirty clothes, clothes that don’t fit or not the right sizes. These are all signs of trouble at home.
