Lansing Cyclones Youth MTB Racing Team

The Cyclones rode Sleepy Hollow last Wednesday. Completing a lap around the lake (11.5 miles) is a capstone for our summer practice season. It isn't a huge distance for some of our older riders but it can be intimidating for younger or less experienced bikers. It's well maintained single-track with some fun climbs and descents through a nice variety of Michigan terrain. It is not the most technical trail in the area, but completion is a visible achievement for riders in a way that our normal practice trails aren't.

This year, everyone rode hard and completed it. The first race of the season is next weekend. We're looking forward to it!

Congratulations to Cyclones rider Gray Galecka, who took first in age group and ninth overall in one of the races at the Great Deer Chase in Calumet this weekend!

No smoke, no thunderstorms, not too hot! What a great practice tonight at Burchfield. We wrapped up our bikeathon fundraiser and race season starts in two weeks!

We will be practicing through mid-October for new riders who would like to keep having fun mountain biking in the fall.

Congratulations to Marcin Lubas, winner of our gift basket at the Greater Lansing Area Moms GLAM Jam Summer Kick-off on Saturday.
