It’s a post I’ve been putting off, but it’s time. For 18 years, I’ve been an LPN with a goal of being an RN from the day I registered for LPN school. LPN was a “stepping stone” for this single mama, who needed to get through school quick and get to work to support myself and my daughter. Over the years, that RN goal has (happily) taken a back seat to a wedding, a baby, a kid that played travel sports, school sports, and sang in every choir she could, a kid with complex health needs, and a job I’ve been happy in for the last 9 of those years. But that goal began whispering in my ear a few months ago and has become so loud, that I know it’s the right time to put it back up in the priority list where it belongs. That being said, with goals come sacrifices, and that includes putting away my apron and mixer and focusing all my “free time” on school. We will not be taking orders for the foreseeable future, and who knows what will happen in the distant future. I have loved learning to make beautiful cookies and prove to myself that I actually do have at least an ounce of creativity in this left-brained body of mine. We have loved being able to share in so many celebrations of friends and family, and even a few strangers. I have felt truly blessed that anyone has viewed my work as something worth paying for, and I’ll always appreciate all the support we have received over the years. Hopefully, you’ll see my work again one day… til then, I’ll be busy “goal getting!” 🤍-Regan
