When it comes to recovery, timing matters just as much as the tools you use.
After exercise, inflammation and oxidative stress don’t just happen, they peak in the hours immediately following work. This means the timing of your recovery routine matters. Supporting your horse early can help reduce the intensity and duration of post-exercise stress, setting them up for a more efficient recovery. The sooner you start recovery, the more effective it can be.

“My XLR8 sheets have been a game changer for my mare, Detail’s, recovery after the unfortunate event that happened to her back in May. Being that she struggles with wanting to lay down out of fear, and will stiffen up from all the standing around, her sheet helps boost circulation, reduce the stiffness, and I notice makes her feel more relaxed. In fact the night I put the sheet on, was the night she finally laid down again for a minute! Our XLR8 sheet is definitely a necessity in my routine with Detail and I’m grateful to be one of their sponsored athletes.”

Your cool-down isn’t meant to be rushed.
When they finally exhale, when the tension leaves, when everything you asked of them starts to settle back into place. Out here, at the end of the day, is where recovery really happens. Don’t skip the moment that brings them back.

A spot at the Canadian Finals Rodeo is officially secured!
Congratulations to rider Jayden Wilson on qualifying for the Canadian Finals Rodeo this past weekend! All the hard work, consistency, and determination have paid off, and we’re excited to see Jayden take on the CFR stage.
Way to go, Jayden - we’ll be cheering you on all the way!
You forgot something, and your horse knows it.
The ride might be over, but recovery isn’t. What you do (or don’t do) after you get off shows up in every step that follows. Don’t make them remind you twice!

Meet Team Rider Acey Pinkston!
rider Acey Pinkston has been putting together an impressive season, proving that every second in the arena is earned through preparation, trust, and an incredible connection with her horses.
From fast runs at the Calgary Stampede to strong finishes across the rodeo circuit, Acey has spent much of the year on the road competing at the highest level. After taking some time at home following her engagement, she’s officially going back on the road in October and is looking forward to the next chapter of her rodeo career.
We’re proud to have Acey representing and can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
After your cross country round, your most important job has begun!
After a big effort, proper cooldown and care are key to keeping your horse feeling their best. Take the time to walk them out thoroughly, allow their breathing and heart rate to return to normal, and make sure they’re rehydrated.
Once back at the barn, check legs carefully for heat, swelling, or sensitivity, and keep them comfortable as their body recovers from the workload.
It’s the small steps after the ride that make a big difference in long-term soundness and performance.
