Your horse’s recovery doesn’t start when you put the tack away - it starts at the cellular level.

Exercise creates a greater demand for energy, particularly in working muscles. After exercise, the body has to restore normal cellular function, replenish energy stores, and repair the microscopic effects of physical activity.

That’s where the science behind photobiomodulation gets interesting. Research has investigated whether red and near-infrared light can support mitochondrial function and ATP production, while also influencing processes associated with muscle fatigue and recovery.The goal isn’t to replace the body’s natural recovery process, it’s to understand how we can support the cellular processes that are already happening.

Performance creates the demand. Recovery is when the body responds. And cellular energy is part of that process.

Cami Henry took a bit of a break over the summer but is already in the middle of a very busy fall/winter season! Here are some highlights so far from her year:

Earlier this year, she qualified for the Breeders Challenge Finals on her 5-year-old ‘Heavens Fireproof’ which she competed at last month and did amazing. Only a few weeks ago, she crushed it at the Pink Buck Barrel Race and is attending the NBHA Open World this weekend.

What a year so far and we’re excited to continue cheering her on!
