For several years now, campers have frequently hiked to the top of a nearby hill and placed one of the many available rocks on a pile -- a pile that's growing bigger and bigger all the time. We now refer to these as the "memory rocks."

They bring to mind the last section of our camp pledge: "I am not the first; I won't be the last. But while I'm at Lake Nixon, I'll keep my word -- and have a blast!"

Day 1 of Week 2 ("World Cup" week) and we give today a "thumbs up," even with spending about two hours undercover during a gully-washer of a thunderstorm!

We are off to the races for Summer 2026! We got to meet some therapy dogs, tried out the new big inflatable and, mostly, we did all the things that cause everyone to go home at the end of each day "happy, dirty, and tired."

The wait is officially OVER! Week 1 of 2026 is underway and the energy at the lake is already through the roof.

Cars are rolling in, old friends are reuniting, and new adventures have begun. We’re ready for a week of screen-free fun, deep curiosity, and coming home every single afternoon exactly the way camp kids should: Happy. Dirty. Tired

Parents, thank you for trusting us with your amazing kids. Let’s make this first week one for the history books!

The lake is full (prayers answered!), the fountains are on, and the counselors took their own swim tests on this beautiful final day of staff week. Lots more to share about this very full week of work as we get ready for the official kick-off of summer in two days!!

Meet the incredible 2026 Lake Nixon Summer Day Camp Staff! Nearly our entire crew rolled up their sleeves for training this week and they're ready to welcome your kids -- our campers -- in just a few days!

For over 50 years, our staff has been the heart of Lake Nixon. This phenomenal team of counselors, lifeguards, and support staff is fully trained, deeply committed, and bursting with energy to make this summer safe, supportive, and unforgettable.

Our team is ready to make sure each camper heads home the exact way they should every single day: Happy. Dirty. Tired.

We are so excited to introduce Caleb, another fantastic member of the Lake Nixon summer crew!

Outside of Camp: He's spending time with friends or hanging out at the Salem Dairy Bar!
Favorite Camp Memory: "When all of the lifeguards hung out on the bouncer on the very last day of camp."

Our staff works hard to keep camp safe, supported, and incredibly fun. Caleb’s team spirit is exactly what makes the Lake Nixon waterfront such a blast for our campers!

We have some exciting news for our camper families who take advantage of our optional daily transportation! To kick off the summer right, we’ve updated our ride with two new (to us) buses to replace some of our older ones. Your campers will to ride to and from the lake in comfort, safety, and style! Our bus routes are a classic part of the Lake Nixon day-camp experience, providing an accessible format for Central Arkansas families.
