We are terribly sorry to report that due to some unforeseen circumstances we are canceling the race and refunding participants. We hope to be able to bring the event back next year. All participants should get a refund by the end of the day Monday, if not already received, and at that time we will be sending out an email to all participants to update them.

The first known U.S. Mardi Gras celebration was held in 1703 in then French Lousiana Capital of Mobile. What?! say you? Yeppers, current Mobile, Alabama can be credited with the first Carnival celebration. It wasn't until 1723, when New Orleans was crowned Capital of Louisana that the Carnival was held in the new State Capital.
