This Friday, June 12th is the first opportunity of the season to paddle to Lake Isabella and join the fun for an evening cookout with live music. This is an amazing turnaround for our bald eagles 🦅. 23 years ago we never saw an eagle on our river and now we see them quite frequently. We never lose that feeling or gratitude watching them fly overhead.

By 1979, the bald eagle population had dwindled to just 4 breeding pairs in the entire state of Ohio, so the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) launched a statewide recovery program which has been very successful. Depending on the source of information, there are around 20-27 active bald eagle nests in Knox County alone and nearly 1,000 across the state. We are grateful to our friend Don Epling for sharing this great shot of a mated pair of bald eagles!

Lauren had her eye on that beautiful Crescent Kayaks Razz Primo and when she came to pick it up Bob decided he liked the Moonrock Primo. They’re headed to the lake to get them on the water today.
