Water safety is a team effort, and we're grateful for our incredible team.❤️

As we kick off Lifeguard Appreciation Week, we want to recognize and thank our dedicated lifeguards for their commitment to keeping our community safe every time they take the stand. 🏊‍♀️☀️🛟💙

We started the morning with clouds overhead and a few puddles on the fields, but before long the sun came out and the soccer fields were filled with smiling faces and little feet running everywhere. Thank you to all of the families who traveled to the Atlee Station YMCA for Saturday soccer. We love seeing our community come together each week, and we hope everyone had a fantastic day learning new skills, making friends, and having fun.

Today is World Drowning Prevention Day, a global advocacy campaign dedicated to raising awareness about drowning and sharing lifesaving water safety education. What a week to remember at the Atlee Station YMCA! Our very first LEGO Camp was a huge success, and these kids absolutely amazed us with their creativity and teamwork. From colorful mosaic tile creations to bridges, cars, towers, and so much more, every masterpiece showcased their incredible imagination. We loved watching their ideas come to life brick by brick. Thank you to all of our campers for making our first LEGO Camp such a memorable one!

We wrapped up our July food distributions last week, and we want to see you next month! We have three food distributions throughout August near the Patrick Henry, Manchester, and Chester YMCA locations. Through strong partnerships and community relationships, we’re able to help local families fill their pantries in the Greater Richmond area each month. 🍞💜
