🐒 WILD MAT MONKEYS SPOTTED IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT! 🥋🌿

Here we observe a troop of young Mat Monkeys in the wild… well, actually, on the Judo mats!

Notice their playful behavior, curious movements, and remarkable ability to turn just about anything into an adventure. 😂

But don’t let the monkey business fool you! These young martial artists are developing coordination, balance, confidence, discipline, and respect—all while having FUN!

Mat Monkeys is a fun, Judo-based martial arts program for children ages 4–9. No kicking. No punching. Just learning, growing, and a little monkey business!

🥋 Arizona Judo in Action!

The ASJI (Arizona State Judo Inc.) Referees Committee has been conducting a Judo Referee Course to help develop knowledgeable, confident referees throughout Arizona.

Today, Yama Dojo’s Grand Opening Judo Scramble in Tucson provided an excellent opportunity to put that training into practice. Arizona Judo referees were able to sharpen their skills in a live contest environment, while Judoka from Arizona dojos tested their own technique, strategy, and competitive skills on the mat.

Events like this are about more than winning and losing. They give athletes, coaches, and referees an opportunity to learn together and strengthen Arizona Judo as a community.

Congratulations to Yama Dojo on its Grand Opening, and thank you for opening the mat to Arizona dojos! 🥋
