When Preston first walked through the doors of Bastos BJJ, he was just 9 years old. He trained hard, earned his yellow belt, and built a strong foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Like many kids, life changed during his teenage years, and he stepped away from the mats.
Years later, at 21 years old, he realized something was missing. It wasn’t just Jiu-Jitsu—it was the friendships, the discipline, the growth, and the community that made Bastos BJJ feel like home.
Today, Preston is back.
He didn’t start from scratch. He picked up where he left off. The solid fundamentals he learned as a kid, combined with years of muscle memory, came right back. It’s a reminder that the lessons learned on the mats stay with you for life.
