M8 Wellness is a local studio in Monterey, CA with Pilates, Yoga, Integrative Nutrition, Wellness Workshops, Healing therapies, and Good Vibes What is our Goal?

Our journey into health began over 18 years ago with the physical body and the teaching of Pilates exercise. “What is your goal?” was the first question we asked clients at the beginning of each session. The theme spread into our business model and led to the unfolding of the Kore Pilates Studio and Retreats. As physical exercise and the attention on muscles, alignment, and joints seemed to fall short in the overall image of health, our family dove into the undertaking of a lifetime. Pilates soon stood side by side with Food and Mind as the obvious inside reflected largely on the outside. In 2009 the expansion began with an in depth study at the Chopra Center. The Certification in Perfect Health brought an ancient science of life in balance. The Perfect Health program added the principals of Ayurveda, Yoga, Spirituality, and more. This amazing opening of the mind brought so many new avenues into our vision and allowed us to go beyond our physical coaching and tap into our mental coaching. This was a beautiful transition. Understanding consciousness, attention, and the vibrations of Feeling led us to even more wonderful adventures in Energy Healing such as Reike, Theta, and NLP/Hypnotherapy. These concepts help us to bring different modalities into our programs that we have in our Community. We would love to help our world shift. Shift a little higher in vibration so that we Feel Good! We are dedicated to the belief that we are all one, here, together, and the better we feel, well, the better we feel. Since given any details, that is what its all about! What are we doing? We have built M8. New innovations in Pilates and Fitness equipment designs, Mindful Movement Studio and Wellness Retreats here in Monterey, CA. Alignment is the overall theme in our Community. When we have alignment we feel good!

Hands in the earth. 🌿

There’s something incredibly grounding about getting a little dirty…hands in the soil, dirt under your fingernails, planting something and knowing you’ll get to watch it grow.

So grateful for the women who are willing to get their hands in the earth with me. 🤎

Our New Moon circle was simple: we gathered, talked, planted lavender and geranium, shared food and set intentions for the season ahead.

Maybe that’s part of the medicine too.
Less perfection. More connection.
More time around a table. More hands in the dirt. More remembering that we’re part of nature, not separate from it.

Here’s to planting things - herbs, intentions, friendships, ideas - and giving them a little time and tending to see what grows. 🌱

Some people walk through the doors and somewhere along the way, they become family.

Today was Maria’s last class with us before she heads off to Scotland for her next adventure.

Over the past few years, Maria has been part of so much of life at M8. Pilates and yoga, workshops and moon circles, gatherings and conversations. She didn’t just come to classes. She became part of this community, building friendships and sharing her warmth with so many of us along the way.

And I think that’s one of the things I treasure most about M8. Yes, we come here to move our bodies, to heal, to learn and to take care of ourselves. But somewhere in all of that, we also belong. We know one another. We share pieces of our lives. We notice when someone isn’t here. We celebrate each other, and sometimes we have to say goodbye.

Maria, we are so grateful for these years with you and for everything you brought into this little space of ours. We’ll miss you tremendously, but we’re so excited for what’s waiting for you in Scotland.

And we love knowing that a little bit of the M8 spirit is heading across the pond with you. 🇬🇧🤍

Tending the Inner Earth 🌿

There’s a subtle shift happening.

We’re still in the warmth of summer, but the light is changing. The rhythms of our days are changing. And perhaps our bodies are asking for a shift, too.

Our bodies are our Earth.

They need seasons of growth and movement, but also seasons of tending, nourishment and restoration.

As we move toward fall, maybe the invitation isn’t to reinvent ourselves or add another thing to the list.

Maybe it’s simpler.

Return to rhythm.
Eat from the season.
Put your hands in the earth.
Clear one thing.
Notice what nourishes you.
And decide what you want to carry with you into the season ahead.

Each class will gently weave together light movement, yoga-inspired postures, pranayama, and guided breathwork to both energize and calm the body. We’ll also explore the rhythms of the seasons, astrology, and the lunar cycle, allowing each class to reflect what’s happening both within us and around us.

Whether you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply looking for a moment to reconnect with yourself, this class is an invitation to pause, breathe, and restore.

☀️ Happy Summer Solstice ☀️

Today marks the longest day of the year - a moment to pause, reflect, and honor all that has unfolded in the first half of 2026.

As we move into Cancer season, I’m feeling called to explore the wisdom of the water element.

Water teaches us how to flow rather than force.
How to receive rather than constantly strive.
How to soften without losing our strength.

Our bodies are water. Our breath moves like tides. Our nervous systems, emotions, fascia, and fluid systems all respond when we create space to listen.

This month’s theme at M8 is inspired by that invitation.

Through Flow, Restore, somatic movement, breathwork, bodywork, and the experiences unfolding in our new Synergy Space, we’ll be exploring what it means to reconnect with the body’s natural rhythms and wisdom.

I recently wrote a reflection called The Wisdom of Water as an invitation into this season of receiving, restoring, and realigning.

As the light begins its gradual return inward, what is your body asking you to receive?
