Here at Cycle Fusion, we’ve added jumping rope to our regular Boot Camp repertoire.

Though it offers a throwback to a favorite childhood activity, jumping rope actually has several benefits for adults!

Here are 6️⃣:

🫀 Elevates heart rate: Jumping rope is a short, fast form of high-intensity training. It increases your heart rate, decreasing your risk of heart disease over time.

🔥 Burns calories: When your heart rate goes up, you burn more calories. The amount depends on your pace, but the average is 100 calories for 10 minutes of jumping rope.

🦵 Works leg muscles: The primary leg muscles that jumping rope works are the calves, but your hamstrings and quadriceps will also be engaged.

👟 Improves coordination: Since jumping rope relies heavily on timing between your hands and feet, your coordination will naturally improve as you do this exercise.

🦴 Builds and maintains bone density: As you age, bone density decreases. Jumping rope is one way to keep bones strong. This is especially important for perimenopausal women.

😄 Provides joy: Many folks find jumping rope to be a fun, nostalgic activity. As with any cardiovascular exercise, jumping rope boosts serotonin, one of the body’s feel-good hormones, which can help combat depression and anxiety.

Last chance to sign up for Boot Camp! Make a commitment to your summer workout routine and enroll now!

We’re excited to return to outdoor workouts in a supportive group fitness atmosphere. The first session starts June 1, and goes through July 10, with classes meeting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5 a.m. or 8 a.m. Sign up under “Enrollments” on our app or at https://cyclefusionwv.com/buy.

Boot Camp helps you challenge yourself with high-intensity, endurance-building, strength-gaining exercises as you improve your overall health and work toward achieving your optimal fitness level. The workouts keep you moving and wanting more. There will be an optional fitness assessment before and after the six-week session.

Dates: June 1 - July 10
Times: 5 a.m. or 8 a.m.
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Location: Cycle Fusion Studio (outside), 200 Lakewood Center in Cheat Lake

This class is for all fitness levels. You do not have to be in shape to join. You do not have to be a runner to join.

After you sign up, you will receive a phone call to schedule your body composition assessment. Your physical assessment will take place on the first day of class. A doctor's note is required for anyone with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or heart conditions.

Please bring an exercise mat, dumbbells, towel, and water to class.

Participants will be notified 30 minutes prior to the class start time via email and/or text if there are cancellations due to weather. The class will be rescheduled and will incorporate all class times into each rain day that occurs within a six-week session.
