Great opening day. Didn’t get a deer, but had a few doe walking right around my stand, so I’ll take it.

Nothing crazy, just one of those hunts that makes you want to get back out there.

Gearing up for Michigan hunting season and wanted to go through what I’m using to hunt this year. What are you rocking? This is my setup.

An old hand-me-down bow that I cherish and still take hunting every year.

The setup:

* 1993 Browning Overdraw III
* TruGlo 3-pin sight
* QAD UltraRest
* Bostinger stabilizer
* TF wrist-trigger release
* G5 quiver (Michigan company!)
* XS Envy 340 arrows
* Realtree bow wrist sling

And yes, I keep my stabilizer and wrist trigger in an old pair of socks. Just like my grandpa did.

Some things don’t need to be upgraded. They just need to be taken care of.



What I carry in my front pack for a day in the woods.

The setup:

* Wild Cedar pack
* Rangefinder
* True Talker OG deer call
* Bushnell 10x42 binoculars
* Extra gear and essentials

Nothing crazy. Just the stuff I actually use when I’m sitting in the woods.

Happy birthday to my wife!! I seriously can’t believe you’re already 30. Crazy how fast time goes.

Thank you for everything you do for our family. Thank you for giving me two beautiful kids and for being such an amazing mom. Thank you for putting up with me, supporting me, and somehow managing to stay around even with all of my shenanigans.

I don’t say it enough, but I’m really thankful for the life we’ve built together. We’ve been through a lot, we’ve grown a lot, and somehow we’re still figuring this whole thing out together. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.

You’re an amazing wife, an amazing mom, and my favorite person to do life with.

But you didn’t like my chickens… so there’s that.

But I forgive you.
