Gold check from Lost Dutchman’s Duisenburg Camp.

Three yards of tailings, 1.4 grams of gold, and one more reminder that Duisenburg likes to hide the good stuff where everyone else already “looked.” (Material was a bit damp for dry washing so we had to re-test!

Apparently the desert said, “Sure, run the leftovers. I left you a little snack.”

That chunky gold did not walk into the pan by accident. It waited patiently in the tailings like a tiny golden troublemaker, just hoping someone would come back with a shovel and a bad case of gold fever.

Moral of the story: at Duisenburg, even the leftovers have leftovers.

Is this really gold?

Some gold has a burnt orange look because tiny amounts of iron, clay, or mineral staining are still hanging onto it. The gold itself is still gold, but the material around it can give it that rusty, orange tint until it gets cleaned up.

That color is a good reminder, gold comes out of the ground with a little attitude.

“Everyone says, ‘Go deeper if you want the big gold.’

Well… they weren’t kidding. 😂

A few more inches (feet 🤣😂) down and this little chunky nugget decided it was done hiding. Turns out the shallow gravel was only protecting its bigger brother.

Gold is a lot like leftovers in the fridge. The good stuff always seems buried underneath everything else.

At Digger’s Dredge Camp, we don’t stop when it gets difficult. We keep digging, keep dredging, and every now and then the creek rewards the stubborn ones.

Who’s ready to suit up, grab the nozzle, and see what bigger surprises are waiting a little deeper? 🏆💦🥇”

There’s something about a peaceful creek that puts you in your happy place.

The water is flowing, the birds are singing, the rocks are minding their own business, and there you are, working your way upstream with a dredge nozzle in your hand like you’ve got life completely figured out.

Some people need a spa day. Gold prospectors need a creek, a dredge, and the slight hope that the next scoop of gravel has been hiding retirement funds.

Dredging upstream, chasing gold, and enjoying the calm before someone yells, “Hey, look what I found!”

That’s the kind of peaceful chaos we like.

Who’s ready to find their happy place in the creek?

🚨 POP QUIZ! 🚨

What’s the difference between Day 1 and Day 3 at Digger’s Dredge Camp at Lost Dutchman’s Vein Mountain Camp?

Simple answer…

About 6 to 8 feet. 😂

On Day 1 you’re standing on top of the creek bank, looking for gold.

By Day 3 you’ve moved so much gravel and material you’re practically sending postcards from the bottom! 🤣

Who knew chasing tiny flakes of gold meant creating your own swimming pool one dredge nozzle at a time?

The funny part? Nobody complains. Every minute sucking material brings you one step closer to hearing those magic words…

“I GOT GOLD!”

If you’ve never spent a few days behind a dredge, you’re missing one of the most addictive ways to prospect. Come move some rock, make some friends, and see how deep your gold fever gets.

Who’s ready to trade a few feet of gravel for a few pieces of gold? 🌟

Life is good when your office is Muddy Creek and your job description is “suck up gold!” 😎🏆

Some people spend hours vacuuming the house and end up with a canister full of dust. We spend hours vacuuming the creek and hope the nozzle spits out shiny yellow paychecks from Mother Nature! I’d say we got the better deal. 😂

Whether you’re chest deep chasing bedrock, running the dredge, or wrestling rocks that seem to weigh twice as much underwater, every scoop brings the chance for that next flash of gold. The smiles say it all. Muddy Creek keeps giving us reasons to come back for more.
