[We forgot about '22 promoting to LT back in May. Those responsible have been sacked. If other '22ers would like to send us their promotion pictures, we'd be happy to post.]
At her promotion ceremony, Summer, an engineer at SFLC Alameda, was joined by her Mom & Dad, Annie & Dan, who made the trip west from Queens (even now, 4+ years after her graduation, it's not at all unusual to see them at Stonington). On the left is one of two Coasties who play rugby professionally. Know who she is? On the right is Katherine, a soccer player. Why we didn't steal her is not clear😉. Both are classmates - and also newly-minted LT's.
Congratulations, LT Gould. We are very proud of you!

When you wear your CG Rugby swag, you make connections. That's what happened a few days ago during EAGLE's port call in CHS. Pictured are Andrew, '16, a winger, and Lydia, '29, also a dweller in the backfield. Andrew is the EO on JAMES, and although we prefer our naval - and aeronautical - engineers to be forwards, we suppose he'll do... We will note, with no bias whatsoever, that the '16 women were a far more accomplished group on the pitch than their brethren. 😉🏉

[Veterans Memorial Stadium, Quincy, MA, June 7]
Two CGAWR alumni are playing rugby professionally...
Chances are very good - virtually certain - that they will be teammates on future CG teams, but for now, Ari, '22 and Kate, '26 are adversaries. Kate's WER side, the Boston Banshees hosted Ari's Bay (Area) Breakers. The visitors prevailed 40-25. Coach Sarah and her wife Julie, who are Banshee season ticket holders, were there.
(When last we checked, Ari remains in Alameda where she started her career on a WMSL. If she hasn't already reported, Kate will soon be aboard a FRC homeported in Boston.)

A few weeks ago, Hollis, '20 and another Coastie represented the CG on the U.S. Armed Forces team that participated in the 3rd Annual International Military Rugby Sevens Challenge in Agen, France. The competition is sponsored by the International Military Sports Council, better known by its French acronym, CISM. The Women's Side competed against teams from France, Ireland, South Africa and Spain, finishing 2nd behind the home team. This was Hollis' second appearance in this competition, and she traveled more than halfway around the globe to get there from Activities Far East in Japan where she serves as the Inspections Chief. Congratulations to all!

Erin, ‘17 was also the Team President when CGA first advanced to the final four. 😊 🏉
Today the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council is over the moon excited to introduce ERIN REYNOLDS - our new PROGRAM DIRECTOR!!!! Erin will arrive mid-July after her 23 day cross-country voyage from Michigan. Erin's brief bio:
"I originally hail from Florida but most recently lived in the Detroit Metro Area before making my way to Ketchikan. I served in the U.S. Coast Guard in Puerto Rico as a Planning Specialist, a role that shaped my commitment to community and creative problem‑solving. I hold a Master of Fine Arts from Emerson College, where I deepened my storytelling practice and strengthened my belief in how art connects people and inspires action.
I’m a fiction writer and a gluttonous consumer of literature. I also run a small laser‑engraving business, creating meaningful, tangible pieces for others.
As the KAAHC Program Manager, I'm excited to develop programming that enriches the cultural life of Ketchikan and expands opportunities for local artists and organizations."
