🥋 We reopen Monday, October 5-and beginners are genuinely welcome at Impact Family Martial Arts!

You do not need to be athletic, flexible, or coordinated before you begin. We welcome Little Ninjas ages 3 and 4, Little Champions ages 5 to 7, students ages 8 to 12, teenagers and adults, and families training together.

Every student is graded on a scale relevant to their own body, so progress is measured by individual effort, not comparison with others. For Little Champions ages 5–7, our program places special emphasis on BETTER LISTENING and focus.

Little Ninja trial lessons are Tuesday, October 6, and Thursday, October 8, both at 4:45 PM, for ages 3 and 4.

Every Saturday at 10:00 AM, kids ages 5 to 12 can attend a FREE TRIAL LESSON. Ongoing classes are also available for ages 8 to 12.

Adults and teenagers have a FREE TRIAL intro class every Friday from 6:00 to 6:45 PM.

Our classes are growing, and space is limited. You do not need to know every detail before reaching out. Rachel can help identify the right place to start.

Listening is an ACTIVE skill, not passive. 👂

A martial arts drill asks children to watch, remember, wait for a cue, move, change direction, work with a partner, stop, recover, and finish. Those skills support reading and math.

“Better Listening” is the focus for Little Champions, ages 5–7. Every drill connects to a larger life lesson.

The Jolly Rancher lesson: 50 pushups or 50 sidekicks earn more than candy. They build pride through effort. Listen, understand, work, finish, feel proud. Reset and try again: confusion isn’t failure.

At home: clear boundaries, consistent expectations, calm follow-through, homework before recreational screens, respectful speech, and responsibilities before privileges.

Martial arts doesn’t guarantee focus or grades. It offers practice in self-control and attention, alongside sleep, reading, classroom support, and professional guidance. A large multi-country randomized study of ages 7–8 found year-long school karate brought small academic and conduct gains, plus fitness and balance improvements.

The dojo is open, with custom music about courage, confidence, and trying your best. 👊

Saturday kids’ class: 10:00 AM, the family introduction everyone can attend. Call Rachel at 740-217-6739 for a free trial class for new students only.

Ages 3–12: Little Ninjas 3–4 (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 PM; arrive at 4:45 PM for a tour), Little Champions 5–7, and Youth 8–12. Teens and adults train together. Adult intro every Friday at 6:00 PM.

Ready to help your child build confidence, focus, and respect? 🥋 Start today with a FREE intro class for NEW STUDENTS ONLY!

Kids ages 3 to 12 train in three separate age-group classes:
🥷 Little Ninjas: ages 3-4
⭐ Little Champions: ages 5-7
💪 Kids: ages 8-12

Little Ninjas orientations are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 PM. Arrive at 4:45 PM for a tour.

Saturday kids intro class: 10:00 AM. Arrive at 9:45 AM for paperwork and a tour. The first Saturday kids intro class anyone can attend is Saturday, October 10.

Adult intro class: Fridays at 6:00 PM.

We are currently on our quarterly rotation break and reopen Monday, October 5.

Winning feels great. Losing a round can feel tough. Both are valuable lessons when kids have a safe, structured place to practice sportsmanship.

At Impact Family Martial Arts, kids ages 5–12 learn to:
🥋 Take turns and celebrate a partner’s progress
👏 Cheer for teammates
💪 Accept a tough round without quitting
🔁 Try again after making a mistake
🏆 Show humility when they succeed

This isn’t about winning at all costs. It’s about learning how to compete with a good attitude, handle both outcomes, and keep participating when things don’t go their way. Those sportsmanship skills carry into school, playground games, and family life, while kids build confidence and physical skills along the way.

No prior experience or natural coordination is required. Kids start exactly where they are!

Confidence can change the way a child responds before bullying ever becomes a serious incident. 💪

At Impact Family Martial Arts, children practice:
✅ Standing with confident posture
✅ Appropriate eye contact
✅ Speaking clearly and firmly
✅ Respecting personal space
✅ Staying aware of their surroundings
✅ Walking away from unnecessary conflict
✅ Telling a trusted adult

Age-appropriate words can make a difference:
“Stop.”
“That is not okay.”
“Do not touch me.”
“Leave me alone.”
“I am going to get an adult.”

Assertiveness is not aggression. The first response is awareness, confident communication, moving away, and seeking help. Physical skills are used only to create safety and escape.

Martial arts cannot guarantee bullying will never happen, and children should never be expected to handle it alone. Parents are authority figures, too. If bullying is reported, document what happened, contact the school, and practice appropriate language with your child.
