⚡ GAME ON — THIS SUNDAY ⚡

Veterans Hockey United hits the ice vs. the LAPD Hockey Club this Sunday, November 1st at The Rinks in Lakewood, CA. 🏒

This one came together fast — the LAPD Hockey Club All-Stars reached out with an invite and we weren’t about to say no. So we’re dropping this announcement a few days out and hoping SoCal shows up.

📅 Sunday, Nov 1, 2026
🕧 12:30 PM
📍 The Rinks — 3975 Pixie Ave, Lakewood, CA

If you’re in the LA area — come out, bring friends, pack the glass. Veterans vs. first responders, one sheet of ice, zero bad reasons to be there.

See you Sunday. 🇺🇸

No sandbagging. No excuses.

One month until we take the ice in Vegas for Armed Services Hockey Assoc which means it’s time to start meeting our players. First up: VHU A, competing in the top division. After a 3rd-place finish last year the boys have some unfinished business and are hungry for another shot proving they’re the best veteran team on ice.

★ WE EARNED IT. ★

Veterans Hockey United has officially achieved the Candid 2026 PLATINUM Seal of Transparency — the highest level a nonprofit can earn.

Platinum means we publish not just the basics, but our mission, financials, leadership, measurable goals, strategies, and real-world results — so every donor, sponsor, and member can see exactly how we operate and where every dollar goes.

This matters for one reason: trust.

VHU is 100% volunteer-run. Every dollar you donate, every sponsorship you commit, every event you show up for — all of it goes directly to the mission of uniting veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, and their families through the game of hockey.

Platinum is Candid’s way of saying our books are open, our plan is public, and our community can hold us to it.

Thank you to every player, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and family member who makes this organization worth being transparent about. This badge belongs to you as much as it does to us.

BREAKING NEWS

After being scratched and booed for Detroit’s home opener, Dylan Larkin has reportedly included VHU as the 4th team on his list of teams he will accept a trade to, per Elliot Friedman. We’ve offered the Red Wings a lightly used MRE, a six pack of coors banquet, and Nick Carcione’s destroyed nuts. We will update when they call us back..

What a week in NYC at the FDNY EMS HOCKEY 9/11 Cup. Played a lot of tough and close games and in the end we won the third place game to bring home some hardware. First year for VHU at this tourney and can’t wait to return next year.

What a weekend of hockey at the Classy SD Hockey Charity Tourney tourney. Three days of 3v3 cross ice hockey. VHU had three teams in three different divisions.

Huge weekend for our first ever VHU women’s team!! We launched a fancy new sweater for the ladies for breast cancer awareness and they showed up to represent!! They had a hard fought championship game coming up a bit short in the end with a score of 3-1 to take second in the Bonita women’s division. And those jerseys? Everyone at the rink loved them.

Our Balboa team (white team) had a battle in the semi-final game that was a tough loss for the boys to take.

And the PB division team? We won’t talk about their results however….You would have thought the boys in green won the whole damn tourney with the amount of Pink Whitney they consumed this weekend.

Oh…and we’ve got one more surprise.

👀 Sneak peek: our brand new Women’s team jersey makes its debut this weekend!

We can’t wait to see the ladies on the ice this weekend.

Let’s goooo!!! 🇺🇸🏒

We’re rolling DEEP!

After a historic 2025 where we took three teams to ASHA Las Vegas, VHU is running it back with FOUR teams in 2026, with each team’s entry fee 100% covered by generous donations and sponsorships!! We have no words to describe the growth of our program, and are excited to shout out those sponsors and donors in the buildup to the 2026 tournament.

Never miss a tournament, charity game, or pickup skate. Download the app in our bio!
