Kansas Highway Patrol - Troop A

Yesterday, KHP recruiters headed to the UMKC career fair.

We connected with the next generation of professionals, shared what it means to serve Kansas, and talked about the opportunities waiting behind the badge.

Your career can take you anywhere. Why not take it where purpose meets service?

It’s time & troopers have been posted up at railroad tracks across the state educating the motoring public about railway safety.

Our local troopers were in Edwardsville at the tracks off K-32 at 9th Street doing just that when a train had blocked the crossing grade. Troopers redirected traffic & also reminded the motorists about the safety tips while around railroad tracks.

🛤️ Be patient - don’t go around downed gates. Wait for flashing red lights to turn off to signal it’s clear to cross.

🚂 If your vehicle breaks down or gets high-centered on the tracks, GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE & call the emergency number (blue sign located at the tracks).

🛤️ Not all tracks have gates. Not all trains sound their horn - Look. Listen. Live

Great things happen when community partners come together! The Kansas Highway Patrol is proud to partner with Chick-fil-A and Chick-fil-A Mission Crossing through positive educational opportunities, community outreach, and a shared commitment to recognizing those who are making a difference.

Sometimes, that partnership comes with a little extra appreciation, and a few free sandwiches along the way!

We’re grateful for businesses like Chick-fil-A that invest in their community and support the men and women who serve it every day.
