Windswept Stables We are a family owned equine boarding stable in Old Town, Maine. We are open to all disciplines of riders, from casual trail riders to competitors.

Stepping up to the plate as the 3rd generation of Marcho's to run Windswept Stables since 1972, we were raised on this farm and we make horse care our top priority. Windswept Stables has over 30 years of experience in the boarding business, and over 40 years of experience with handling & care of horses. Wooded trails are on the 40+ acres of property, and trails maintained by the University of Maine at Orono are just a stones throw away. We keep two riding areas; an outdoor sand riding area, and an enclosed indoor riding ring. We do require the following vaccinations prior to your horse arriving to Windswept Stables:
Flu (4 or 5 way)
Tetanus
Rhino
EHV 1+4
West Nile
EEE
Rabies
Strangles
Windswept Stables offers not only monthly board for our long term guests, but daily and weekly rates as well for those either traveling through in need an overnight stay for the horses. These daily & weekly openings are a great alternative for "home horse owners" that are traveling without their horses and don't want to hire an "horse sitter".

🐴💕 Brunch & Bridles is back!

Join us at Windswept on Sunday, August 30th from 9–12 for a morning of rider-focused fitness, brunch, and horsemanship with your horse.

We’ll start with movement designed specifically for riders, enjoy brunch together, and then spend time working with our horses to build better communication, confidence, and connection. 🌿

All levels are welcome, and you’re welcome to participate through riding or groundwork.

🐴 Participant: $75
🌿 Haul-in: $25
☕ Auditor: $40
