Girls United Flag Football Teams Secure National Championship Spots After Regionals

OMAHA, Neb. – The Girls United Flag Football 10u and 12u squads officially punched their tickets to the NFL Flag National Championship Tournament in Indianapolis this July.

After commanding performances at the Minnesota Regional Tournament, both teams secured championship titles against premier regional challengers, extending a historic season for the Nebraska-based organization.

Advancing to the national stage represents a significant achievement for Girls United and exemplifies the rapid expansion of girls' youth flag football across Nebraska.

The program remains dedicated to fostering athletic excellence, leadership, and mentorship, while providing young female athletes with a platform to excel at the most competitive levels.

"In our second year together, Girls United tripled in size from the year prior,” Joe Lee, 10u head coach of Girls United Flag Football, said. “This season marked our first attempt to win an NFL Flag regional tournament, and we had two teams achieve that goal. Our 10u and 12u teams each became the first for their age group from Nebraska to win a qualifier to the NFL Flag national tournament."

As the teams begin preparations for the trip to Indianapolis, Girls United is actively seeking community partners, sponsors, and donors to assist with travel, lodging, and tournament-related expenses.
