OSHS Powerlifting

Congrats to Senior Payton Burnett for his 2nd place 🥈 finish at the MHSAA State Championships today.
He finished with a 400lb squat, 175lb bench, and a 495lb deadlift… while totaling 1,070lbs at 123lbs!!

His dead lift was a 7A State record 495lbs and beat the previous 7A state record by 75lbs!!!

Our 3 Seniors showed out today at the highest level against some amazing lifters at the 7A State Championships!

Dewayne James- Finished 4th in the 148lb weight class with a 425lb squat, 185lb bench, and 525lb dead lift! 💪🏽
Payton Burnett- Finished 🥈2nd in the 123lb weight class with a 400lb squat, 175lb bench, and a 495lb dead lift! 💪🏽
Ethan Horne- Finished 4th in the 275lb weight class with a 660lb squat, 255lb bench, and a 575lb dead lift! 💪🏽

These 3 seniors have given us their all the last few years and we thank them for all of their dedication, determination, and representation! 💙🩶

Kendyll finishes her Greyhound Career as a 3x, back to back to back State Champion🥇🥇🥇! She was A member of our 2023 team State Championship Team where she finished 2nd 🥈 place as a 9th grader. She also has numerous meet best lifter awards🏆🏆, and tonight finished as a Super 12 lifter as one of the top 12 lifters in the State through all classifications!

Natalie Leddon (8th Grade)- finished 5th in the 132lb weight class with a 270lb squat, 105lb bench, and a 290lb dead lift!

Huge showing by these two 8th Graders at the 7A South State Powerlifting Finals yesterday! These two powerhouse middle schoolers punched their tickets 🎟️🎟️ to the MHSAA State Championships at the end of March. Kallie McDavid and Natalie Leddon were the only Middle Schoolers that made it to South State and now will be the only two in Jackson at the end of the month. Kallie won her weight class at South State and Natalie finished 2nd! 💪🏽💪🏽
