THIS is why they're called SNAKEHEADS! 🐍

From this angle, the resemblance is almost unsettling. That broad, flattened head, elongated body, and dark, glossy scales make this fish look more like a reptile than something you'd pull out of a lake!

It's a perspective you rarely see.

It's no wonder so many find them off-putting.

Well, I learned something new yesterday... and apparently I've been wrong about this fish for YEARS. 😂

Turns out, the snakeheads we've been catching in South Florida aren't even the species we thought they were!

Some fascinating research involving DNA, a discovery in 2018, and a connection to Thailand completely changed how these fish are classified.

I've been obsessed with snakeheads for years, and somehow this one slipped right past me. 🤦‍♂️

Curious how many of you already knew this!
