📚✨ A Special Day at NWCC! ✨📚

Today, some of our NWCC youth had the opportunity to be read to by State Representative Maurice West—and in a fun twist, two of our youth had the opportunity to read to him as well! ❤️📖

We’re grateful to Representative West for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit Northwest Community Center, connect with our youth, and share in the joy of reading.

Thank you, Rep. West, for spending time with us! We appreciate you! 🙌🏾📚❤️

THANK YOU, THE MILL FOUNDATION!

We are incredibly grateful to The Mill Foundation for its continued support of Northwest Community Center's Teen Leadership Program!

Their generous investment helps provide support for local middle and high school youth with opportunities for leadership development, academic enrichment, career exploration, mentoring, and personal growth. Through our programming the youth gain the skills, confidence, and experiences they need to succeed in school and become future leaders in our community.

Thank you, Mill Foundation, for believing in our youth and helping us create opportunities that make a lasting impact.

Together, we are empowering the next generation of leaders!

Thank you, Rockford Kiwanis!

Our teens had a wonderful time working in the garden alongside members of Rockford Kiwanis. We are grateful for your partnership and commitment to helping young people learn, and develop new skills.

Through hands-on gardening activities, our teens are learning about teamwork, responsibility, healthy living, and the importance of giving back to the community. Opportunities like these help cultivate leadership skills that will benefit them for years to come.

Thank you, Rockford Kiwanis for investing in our youth and helping our garden flourish.

Happy Juneteenth!

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrates freedom, resilience, culture, and progress.

Please note that Northwest Community Center will be closed today in observance of Juneteenth. Regular programming and services will resume on our next scheduled business day.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this day and celebrate the contributions, achievements, and history of the African American community.

Have a safe and meaningful Juneteenth!
