👋 Meet Deidre Bedford, FSPA Immediate Past President and a dedicated leader who has spent years advocating for Florida’s pool and spa industry.

Deidre has served on the FSPA Executive Committee for 7 years, previously serving as Builders Council Chair on the State Board of Directors. Her journey into FSPA leadership began after witnessing firsthand the Association’s impact in protecting the industry.

💬 “When I saw FSPA organize, advocate and successfully fight legislation that would have dramatically changed our scope of work, I realized this was more than a trade association, it was an organization actively protecting the livelihoods of pool professionals.”

One of Deidre’s proudest moments in leadership has been helping secure legislative approval for the Swim for Life specialty license plate, an initiative that extends FSPA’s mission beyond the industry by helping fund swim lessons for children across Florida.

“Knowing that something we worked so hard to achieve will continue to save lives long after our terms are over is incredibly fulfilling.”

🙌 Her advice to members considering leadership? Get involved.
FSPA leadership provides opportunities to grow as a business owner, professional and industry advocate while building relationships with others who share a passion for the future of the pool industry.

🥾 Outside of FSPA, Deidre enjoys hiking and is working toward completing the South West Coast Path in England, a 630-mile coastal trail. She has already completed approximately 380 miles and continues to make progress each year.

Looking ahead, Deidre hopes to see FSPA continue expanding consumer education, helping homeowners understand what to look for when hiring a pool contractor, recognize the value of licensed professionals and make informed decisions.

🌴 What a successful membership drive weekend in the Florida Keys!

As we continue working to grow membership in the Keys, our team headed south to connect with industry professionals, build new relationships and share more about who we are and what FSPA does for Florida’s swimming pool industry.

We were grateful to have Belkis and Pedro Vigil from the FSPA Greater Miami Chapter supporting the event and helping drive the Chapter’s growth!

🍹 We also had the opportunity to host a cocktail hour to kick off SCP’s annual Key West event, welcoming more than 200 attendees!

A huge thank you to SCP for inviting us and for your continued support and promotion of FSPA. They definitely know how to bring the swimming pool industry together for a great time!
