Not the way we hoped to end the season for the #5 JDC-Miller MotorSports Mustang Sampling Porsche 963.

After a tough start and an unfortunate issue during a pit stop, we fought our way back onto the lead lap with less than three hours remaining. As the evening came on, the car was coming to us and the team was building momentum.

Unfortunately, an incident at Turn 10 sent Tijmen into the wall, causing extensive damage and forcing the car to retire around the eight-hour mark. Most importantly, Tijmen was okay after a big hit.

A huge thank you to Kaylen, Nico, Tijmen and the entire crew for their effort and determination all weekend. This was a tough one, but we’re proud of the fight everyone showed until the very end.

The #17 JDC-Miller MotorSports Unitronic Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS finished 15th in the GS field at Road Atlanta.

While it wasn’t the result the team had hoped for, the #17 made it to the checkered flag to close out the season.

A huge thank you to Mikey, Chris, and the entire crew for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

The JDC-Miller MotorSports Mustang Sampling Racing No. 5 Porsche 963 finished 9th at the Battle on the Bricks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After coming upon a first lap incident with nowhere to go, Tijmen van der Helm limped the damaged car back to the pit for a new nose and tail. As a result from the contact, the car was less-than-perfect the remainder of the race. Nico Müller brought it home in the 9th position.

A highlight for the team was hosting 13-year-old St. Jude cancer survivor Thompson “T-Nash” and his parents, along with a group from JDC-Miller MotorSports’ partner, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This capped a months-long fundraising effort by the Nord Stern Region of the Porsche Club of America, Porsche Minneapolis + Porsche St. Paul, and JDC-Miller MotorSports, culminating with a $100,000 check presented to St. Jude for its lifesaving efforts.

Next up, the season finale at Road Atlanta.

The JDC-Miller MotorSports Unitronic No. 17 Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 RS finished 9th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After starting in the 11th position, Chris Miller made some steady progress forward. Mikey Taylor also had a good stint bringing the car up to the 3rd position. We were hoping for a caution that never came. Unfortunately, we had to pit for fuel with around 10 minutes remaining dropping us to the 9th position.

We hoped for a better result to honor the recent passing of our engineer, Walter Preston. Although, we were happy to show we were competitive. We hope to ride the momentum into Road Atlanta next week.
