We gathered
We danced
We shook the ground with our Shakti (energy) š„
Iāve always relied on movement to help me process my feelings
Thatās why Boom Shakti yoga dance was the perfect way to move into my feelings for the last class in our North West Work Loft studio
When Shiva dances itās called a Tandava. Itās a 3 part cycle that dances us into creation, preservation, and transition states
We are always in these cycles of create, destroy, rinse, repeat ā¦
Om Operative is in a transition state ⦠becoming āhOMe Operativeā for the time being while Stephen and I transform our house into an office / yoga studio for us to work & livestream from
My 100+ video library is available for you while we dissolve what WAS and begin to create something new
My heart is always in movement with you all
Keep with the light loves, until the next time we IGNITE š„

Ā
āDo nothing. This is a long pause. Something new and incredible is about to come forth.āĀ
š®
Many of us are feeling itchy and worthless ... but wait it out. Be still. It's good. We're remembering our inherent worth
š®
The promise of Dhumavati is that thereās a seed thatās being planted. And in order for that seed to grow we must wait, and wonder, and feel that seed crack us open as it emerges from its shell and fights its way up to the surface. The seed has to destroy what it started in and called āhomeā in order to fully actualize and grow
š®
Ā
Om Operative has had 3 physical locations in just 2 years. The pause between each space felt excruciating. The pause of the last 2+Ā years with pandemic life has felt exhausting. All that waiting and wondering ... itās not easy to live in the gap between whatās going and whatās coming next
š®
While things are changing, I still believe that Om Operative has a place within the living tradition of yoga, and our community consciousness. My current focus is on closing our physical space, however in this winter silence lies the shadow of a vision for the future being created for us, by us, that holds the versions of ourselves that fully honors the light we have to give
š®
Throughout this pandemic we've honed in on the Tools for Practice, carefully activating a Labor of LOVE that affirms a bright and just world we choose to live in. I'm humbled by the lineage & forever in service to the work of uncovering our source light, shining it brightly, freely, for the benefit of all
š®
These tools are POWERFUL. This work is a continuum.....Ā
No matter the future... we continue to celebrate life, love and liberty always, and in ALL-WAYS

with love & light, Tara

Happy bday Rowan!
Youāre 6 š„³ !!
We love you so so much. Youāre the best of your papa and I ⦠his brains and my heart ā„ļø
You came into our lives as a surprise, and we couldnāt have known how much we needed YOU to make a family
Thanks for choosing us RoBo
We can ALL trust the promise of a new scene š Giddy on grace as life sends us down a rollercoaster of experiences
My lifeās been blessed with many MANY stages & curtains ⦠from discovering the world with a touring ballet company, to discovering the SELF touring my mind
Yoga talks about curtains as Maya, a veil that conceals reality. The work is to constantly lift the veil for a further awakening to TRUTH
Some curtains fall and stay closed ⦠shielding is from old patterns and stages that are no longer truth
Other curtains rise to show a new vision for living. But at first we canāt see. We just have to sit ⦠and wait ⦠buzzing in anticipation / anxiety ā¦
Lila is a yogic philosophy that describes life as a āplayā that springs from divine bliss. BLISS provides a motive for creative expression. Life delights in itself so much that itās constantly generating new scenes for us as a divine play narrating our lives
Yoga says life is here for our engagement, enjoyment and yes ā¦. our wonder as we stare out at its mystery unfolding
People are asking how Iāll continue to offer yoga practices after Om Operative closes. I honestly donāt know whatās next for me. But I DO know that behind the veil of unknown ⦠a scene is being set. When the curtain lifts Iāll be delighted at the pathway of plentitude laid before me
Let what comes come
Let what goes go
Practice with what remains

This new year marks a new beginning for Om Operative
Weāre closing our doors this month, but with a sense of āunfurling into the grace of a new beginningā
In this winter silence lies the shadow of a vision for the future being created for us, by us, that holds the versions of ourselves that fully honors the light we have to give
Our FREE 2 week pre-recorded yoga challenge kicks off tomorrow Jan 2nd with an optional in-studio soundbath 9-10am (proof vaxxed and masked plz)
For whatever this new year holds for you, hereās my favorite poem for exploring the shaky newness ā¦
FOR A NEW BEGINNING
John O'Donohue
In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.
For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.
It watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.
Then the delight,
when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.
Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life's desire.
Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back,
learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you

Beloveds
Masks are an essential part of your in-studio yoga practice (artwork cred. )
Omicron numbers are soaring
Seattle & surrounding King county are at a 200% increase in the last 7 days from the 7 days previous. Our numbers are now 2,920 new cases daily
This is bananas. Even if Omicron isnāt as fatal a variant, itās spread is monstrous and it WILL overwhelm hospitals. Hospitalizations are up 50% this past week alone
Yoga doesnāt preach autonomy. Weāre asked to serve the WE over the I. We engage in yoga asana to gain mastery over our bodies and minds ⦠to insert consciousness over our wants and desires, so our actions come from skill not impulse. We utilize our physical body in service to humanity by choosing ārightā actions that benefits the health and freedoms for all
Of course I prefer to practice without a mask. But weāre being asked to serve the collective health through choices we make with our individual bodies
Washington mask mandate is a law that requires masks to be worn inside yoga studios throughout practice. If your local studio isnāt following the mandate, ask that they adopt masking policies at this time
If you donāt wear a mask during public practice, start now. No gain is undone. Even if youāre the only one in the room. You can model universal consciousness
Has masking changed my business and industry? Absolutely. Does masking harm Om Operative profitability? šÆ!! But itās warranted NOW, at this point in time as cases surge
Letās use the tools of yogic practices to keep each other safe
