Boot Camp at MY Fitness is something special.
One hour. Fun, challenging, and different every single time. Each class incorporates varying types of exercise and conditioning so your body never gets too comfortable and your mind never gets bored.
It is not about surviving the hour. It is about pushing yourself in ways you did not know you could and walking out feeling like you earned it.
Monday and Wednesday at 5:30pm. Saturday at 9am.
Come see what the work looks like. 💙

I love a good review. But I love even more when my coaches get their flowers.
This is my baby. I built this gym from the ground up and I am proud of it every single day. But I would not be here without the people who show up alongside me and pour themselves into every single class, every single member, every single day.
They know your names. They remember your goals. They celebrate your wins like they are their own. And they do it because they genuinely care, not because it is their job.
When someone notices that and takes the time to say so, it means everything to me. So thank you Michelle R. And thank you to my coaches for being everything this gym stands for. 💙

Most people focus on how much they lift. But how long your muscle is working during each rep matters just as much.
It is called time under tension and it is one of the most underused tools in strength training.
Here is a simple example. A bicep curl where you lift in one second and drop the weight back down in one second is very different from one where you lift in two seconds and lower slowly over four seconds. Same weight. Same exercise. Completely different demand on the muscle.
Slowing down the lowering phase, what we call the eccentric, is where a lot of the real strength building happens. Most people rush through it without realizing they are leaving results on the table.
Next time you are in class try slowing down your reps instead of adding weight. You might be surprised how much harder it gets.

Battle ropes are not easy. Anyone who has done them will tell you that.
But look at that smile.
That is what happens when you find a community that makes the hard stuff worth
showing up for. The work is real. The effort is real. And so is the fun.
That right there is MY Fitness. 💙

This is what it is all about right here.
Different people, different goals, different starting points, all showing up in the same space and pushing each other forward. There is nothing quite like it.
So grateful for this community every single day. 💙

Something that does not get talked about enough: how you breathe during a lift matters just as much as how you lift.
Holding your breath at the wrong moment, or forgetting to breathe altogether, puts unnecessary pressure on your body and robs you of stability when you need it most.
The general rule is simple. Exhale on the effort, inhale on the return. Breathe out as you push, pull, or press. Breathe in as you reset.
Next time you are in class, pay attention to your breath. You might be surprised how much it changes the way a movement feels.

Hey MY Fitness family, wanted to share a quick update with you.
I will be stepping away for a little while to have a surgery and take some time to recover. Everything is okay and I am in good hands. The gym is in great hands too, so nothing is changing for you.
I will keep you updated as I heal and cannot wait to be back on the floor with you soon. Thank you for all the love and support you always bring to this community. It means everything. 💙

Okay but can we talk about this for a second? Because mid-July hits different.
The excitement of the new year is long gone. Summer is in full swing. The kids are home, the schedule is off, the humidity is unreal, and somehow we are still here asking our bodies to do hard things.
And then you get to THAT exercise. You know the one. The clock slows down, your brain starts negotiating, and suddenly thirty seconds feels like a personal attack.
But here is the thing. You finish it anyway. Every single time. That is not nothing. That is actually everything.
Mid-summer is when it gets real. Not the motivation, not the excitement, just the quiet decision to keep going even when it is hard and hot and your legs are done.
That is the version of you we are most proud of. See you in class. 💙

Core work is not just about abs. It is about building the foundation that makes every other movement stronger, safer, and more controlled.
These are the exercises that do not always look flashy but make a difference you feel in everything else you do.
Show up for the work that matters. 💙

Four years. That is not just a membership, that is a commitment to yourself.
Lorin E. said it best and we could not be more grateful to have been part of that journey. This is exactly why we do what we do. 💙
