At Burn we love a good Transformation Story and here's one from Caitlin Lowrey!
I began attending Burn a few months after my second difficult birth. I joined primarily for my mental health, rather than for physical reasons. At that time, I was struggling mentally due to my birth experiences.
That’s when I first popped into Burn. It was a conditioning day, and I thought I was going to pass out, but I came back. I noticed significant changes over time. Shedding 30 pounds was a milestone, but feeling stronger and more energetic was even more rewarding.
I’m a SAHM and Burn has become so much more than a workout for me. It sets up my day for success and gives me some time to reset away from my kids, and focus on my goals and dreams for just a little bit. It gives me the mental and physical endurance for the long 24-48 hour solo parenting “shifts” I have due to hubby’s job.
I love what Burn has done for me; it has given me the confidence to try new things and face fears directly. Burn has changed my lifestyle—from how I eat to what I do to feeling confident enough to wear the clothes I love, which I once avoided due to body image. Now, I look forward to working out and setting new fitness goals. I no longer feel like the chubby friend; I am the strong friend. I can do hard things. I can push farther.
I like trying things that scare me now (like learning to swim in my late 20s!), and my bucket list of scary and hard things to try are getting longer by the day. All that to say, thank you, Burn, for the multiple ways you fuel my life.
