If I were trying to have more energy at 45 than I did at 35, this is where I'd start.
I wouldn't start by looking for the perfect supplement or the latest health trend.
I'd start by taking an honest look at the basics.
Am I getting enough sleep? Am I drinking enough water? Am I eating enough protein? Am I moving my body regularly?
I'd also make strength training a priority.
Not because I'm trying to look a certain way, but because muscle helps support energy, balance, bone health, and the ability to keep doing the things I enjoy as I get older.
The truth is, energy isn't usually found in a bottle.
It's often built through small habits that support your body day after day.
The good news? You don't have to do everything at once. Pick one thing, start there, and let it build.
Here's the hard truth about getting back into a routine.
You're probably not going to feel motivated. A lot of people think they're waiting for the right Monday, the right season, or the moment they finally feel ready. But most of the time, that's not how it works...
The people who get back on track aren't necessarily more disciplined than everyone else. They just stop waiting to feel motivated and do the next thing anyway. Maybe that's going for a walk. Maybe it's making it to one class this week. Maybe it's drinking more water or cooking a decent meal.
You don't have to fix everything at once. You just have to do something.
Momentum usually shows up after you get moving, not before.

Nobody talks about this....
At some point, the goal starts to change.
When we're younger, a lot of us are taught to focus on how our body looks. Lose the weight. Fit into the jeans. Get ready for summer.
But as we get older, something else starts to matter....
You want to wake up without everything hurting. You want enough energy to enjoy your day. You want to keep traveling, gardening, hiking, playing with your kids or grandkids, and doing the things you love for as long as possible. You want a body that supports your life. Maybe it's time we spent less energy chasing a certain look and more energy building a body that feels good to live in.
That's a goal worth working toward.

If I were trying to feel my best after 35, this is where I would start....
I wouldn't start with a detox, a cleanse, or cutting out every food I enjoy. I'd start by eating more protein, drinking more water, getting enough sleep, and strength training a few times a week.
Why?
Because muscle matters, especially for women. It helps support bone health, keeps your metabolism working efficiently, improves balance, and makes everyday things easier. Carrying groceries, playing with your kids or grandkids, getting up off the floor, and keeping up with the life you want to live.
Most of us don't need another extreme plan. We need habits we can actually stick with.
