Good morning karate families.

For those in the Springfield and surrounding areas, we hope you safely came through last night's storm.

We are keeping an eye on the weather situation today as it develops and will post here any updates on class for this evening.

Thank you to Shihan Caldwell, of the International Okinawa Kobodo Association, and his sempai, Wesley, for coming over from Nebraska to work with us this weekend! Shihan Caldwell conducted workshops on the tonfa, shuchu, and bo-staff, and shared his wealth of knowledge and history with us.

Please join us in welcoming aboard Ms. Morgan as a summer Assistant Teacher for our Ninja and Samurai programs.

Ms. Morgan started her karate journey back in 2019 as a Ninja and came up through the Samurai class and currently holds a 2nd degree brown belt. She is the highest ranked kyu (non-black) belt in our dojo, and a prime example of the strength of our program and how it prepares students for success!

Promotions!!! Congratulations to Wyatt on his passing his test for Yellow Belt!

Reminder that class for are ninjas and Samurai starts this evening at 5:45 p.m. Adult class begins as normal at 7:00 p.m.

For those who gave their last full measure of devotion and sacrifice - we honor your service.

We wish all the best for Ms. Lansden as she travels to Denmark for the summer to continue her studies!

Excellent class last night as the Samurai blue-and-green belts visited the Adult class! The next generation of black belts looks great, and we can't wait to watch these incredible students go further in their journey!

Hello Karate Families - just a reminder on our class cancellation policy.

As a general rule, Shudo Kan Karate Club follows the same schedule as the Pleasant Plains school district for determining whether we will have class. If Pleasant Plains cancels, we will cancel as well.

We will notify you otherwise, either via Facebook post or a text, if we make a different determination.
