The team has made it home safely from Springfield, Missouri and have been enjoying some much needed rest.

We have been absolutely amazed by the outpouring of messages, Facebook post, e-mails, and calls we’ve received.

Thursday, we will be sitting down with Eyewitness News WEHT WTVW Adam Reinhart and discussing what it means to our team to win a championship, how it feels to our members to go from starting as a brand new team of firefighters that had never played hockey before to now, and most importantly what it means to wear Evansville across our chest in the arenas we skate in all over the country.

EVANSVILLE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

Evansville just cleared the ice WINNING game 4 and the CHAMPIONSHIP!

Evansville defeated Wichita Fire 6-1 and took home the championship of Local 152 Hockey Club Battle of the Badges Hockey Tournament!

The boys knew we were skating for fallen firefighter/emt Beth Braden and said we had no choice but to finish what we started.

Evansville is a few minutes out from taking the ice for the Championship game against Wichita Fire at Brightspeed Ice Park for Local 152 Hockey Club Battle of the Badges Hockey Tournament.

As we close out a busy 3 days of hockey in Springfield, Missouri we want to give a huge thank you to Firefighter Nick Rodgers and Police Officer Tanner Smith. Due to schedules, our members on shift, and vacations our team was extremely short handed coming to Springfield with 7 skaters. Nick and Tanner offered to drive down from Kansas City to skate with our team this week. We sincerely appreciate their help and are thankful to see the brotherhood thrive.

Evansville just got off the ice for game 3 of 4 in the Local 152 Hockey Club Battle of the Badges Hockey Tournament. Evansville took the WIN 8-2 over Southwest Missouri Firefighters.

Evansville welcomes #21 Jude Payne-

Yesterday was a full circle moment for members of our team. It was the first game for legacy skater, Jude Payne.

Jude’s dad, #17 Jim Payne was one of our original members when we started our organization. At that time Jude was 6. Watching his dad participate with our team Jude wanted to start playing hockey. This led to Jude’s hockey journey where he has played ever since.

Our members are excited to have Jude and sad because it was a hard reality that our members are getting old. Jude came out ready to represent the Payne name scoring his first goal in his first game in Springfield, Missouri.
