😎 The funny thing about discipline is…

The people who get the most uncomfortable around it are usually the people avoiding it.

Your presence alone starts bothering certain people when:
✅ you stay consistent
✅ you stop making excuses
✅ you train with purpose
✅ you build confidence
✅ you stop needing approval

You don’t even have to say anything.

Your work ethic speaks for you.

And the reality is…
Most people aren’t upset because you’re doing bad.
They’re upset because your discipline reminds them of what they’re NOT doing.

Keep showing up.
Keep building.
Keep growing.

The right people will be inspired.
The wrong people will be triggered.

🏆 AGE IS JUST A NUMBER… BUT HEART, DISCIPLINE, AND EXPERIENCE ARE EVERYTHING. 🏆

June 6th at RPS Powerlifting Nationals, two masters lifters step onto the platform with completely different builds, different leverages, and different styles… but the same goal:

💥 Leave everything on the platform.

On one side you’ve got the reigning Masters National Champion, Billy Turano — pound-for-pound one of the strongest and toughest competitors in the field.

On the other side, Coach Gary chasing another huge total and looking to bring years of experience, power, and preparation together on meet day.

This is what powerlifting is really about:
🔥 discipline
🔥 sacrifice
🔥 overcoming injuries
🔥 overcoming doubt
🔥 learning how to suffer with purpose

The crazy part?

Most people only see the attempts on meet day…
They don’t see:
➡️ the early mornings
➡️ the missed events
➡️ the fatigue
➡️ the recovery work
➡️ the mental battles
➡️ the years it takes to build real strength

Respect to every athlete stepping on that platform. Especially the masters lifters still pushing limits while most people their age are slowing down.

Let’s clear something up… 👇

People hear “not FDA approved” and automatically assume something doesn’t work.

Meanwhile many of the things people use every single day aren’t FDA approved either:
➡️ Creatine
➡️ Fish oil
➡️ Melatonin
➡️ Electrolytes
➡️ Most supplements and vitamins

FDA status and effectiveness are NOT the same conversation.

The real question should always be:
🧠 Is it being used responsibly?
🧠 Is there research behind it?
🧠 Is there education, structure, and proper guidance?

The fitness industry is full of emotional opinions instead of honest conversations.

At the end of the day:
❌ no supplement replaces discipline
❌ no peptide replaces training
❌ no shortcut replaces consistency

But optimizing recovery, health, performance, and body composition the SMART way absolutely matters.

The biggest transformation in this photo didn’t come from one thing…

It came from:

Today was the final lift of this entire meet prep. 🏆

The work is done.

No more building.
No more testing.
No more chasing numbers in the gym.

Now it’s about:
🧠 recovery
🧠 visualization
🧠 bodyweight management
🧠 arriving ready to perform on command June 6th.

Today’s final deadlift session was exactly what it needed to be:
✅ short
✅ efficient
✅ low fatigue
✅ confidence-building

Worked up to a smooth 605 lb single after easy positional work and shut it down right there.

That’s maturity as a lifter.

A lot of people think peaking means doing MORE…
But the truth is, great meet prep is about doing LESS at the right time so your strength can finally show itself. 🔥

Right now I can feel the rebound building.
The body is recovering.
The nervous system is stabilizing.
The confidence is growing.

And honestly… that’s one of the best feelings in powerlifting.

Now the focus shifts to visualization and ex*****on.

See the lift.
Feel the lift.
Believe in the lift.
Then go perform it. 💪

Most people train the bench press like it’s just a chest exercise…

That’s exactly why they stay stuck. 💯

A BIG bench press is built with:
✅ triceps strength
✅ lat stability
✅ leg drive
✅ upper back tightness
✅ full-body tension

The strongest bench pressers in the world don’t just “press the weight.”
They create total-body force and transfer power through the bar. 🔥

If your setup is loose…
If your lats aren’t engaged…
If your triceps are weak…
Your bench will ALWAYS hit a wall eventually.

The bench press is a SKILL before it’s a display of strength.

Today was the final bench press workout of this entire meet prep heading into Nationals on June 6. 🏆

At this stage, training is no longer about building strength…
It’s about protecting it, sharpening it, and arriving healthy enough to display it on command.

Worked up to a smooth paused 410 lb single today and honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted. Controlled. Clean. Fast enough. No grinding. No unnecessary fatigue.

The goal right now isn’t to leave the gym exhausted.
The goal is to leave the gym READY. 🔥

Recovery is improving.
Sleep is improving.
Bodyweight is stabilizing.
Muscle mass is holding near 200 lbs.
And mentally, confidence is getting stronger every session.

That’s what a proper taper should do.

A lot of lifters panic this close to a meet and start chasing heavy numbers trying to “prove” they’re strong enough.

Too late for that.

The strength is already built.
Now it’s about letting the nervous system recover enough to EXPRESS it.

Current projected attempts:
🏋️‍♂️ 425 opener
🏋️‍♂️ 445 second
🏋️‍♂️ 455–465 third depending on speed

Now we recover, visualize, and get ready for game day. 💪

Be positive.
Be optimistic.
And most of all… be determined. 💯

Your future is built by the sacrifices and decisions you make TODAY.

Today officially started my final training week before a full week off leading into Nationals. 🏆

Worked up to a smooth 600 lb squat at roughly 75% of my projected max for meet day. Feeling strong, confident, and healthy. The entire session only took about 45 minutes because right now it’s not about doing MORE…

It’s about recovering better. 🔥

A few warm-up rounds, some movement work, visualization, and done.

Now the focus becomes:
🧠 recovery
🧠 confidence
🧠 ex*****on

I’ve been visualizing:
👉 a 700 lb raw squat opener
👉 a 750 lb wrapped squat
…and then letting the platform determine what comes next.

And yes… before anybody asks 😂
I get 4 squat attempts because I compete in BOTH Raw Classic and Raw Modern.

I compete raw classic because, to me, it’s one of the purest forms of powerlifting there is.

You may disagree…
but that’s okay.

You do you boo. 😎💪
