Most plant-based women over 40 are not eating enough protein.
They’re eating protein foods... but not enough actual protein.
Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are amazing foods, but they’re primarily carb sources with some protein.
Nuts and nut butters are healthy, but they’re primarily fat sources with some protein.
The problem?
If you’re trying to hit 120g, 140g, or 160g of protein using mostly beans and nuts, your carbs and fats can end up much higher than you realize.

The most important investment you can make after 40 isn’t in your retirement account.
It’s in your muscle.
Because let’s be real...
What good is a healthy retirement account if you’re too tired, too weak, or in too much pain to enjoy the life you worked so hard to build?
I want to travel.I want to hike.I want to explore new places.I want to get down on the floor with my grandkids and get back up without needing help.
And I want that at 70, 80, and beyond.
That’s why I train.
Not just to look good in a swimsuit.Not just for summer.Not just for photos.
I train because muscle is one of the biggest predictors of how well we age.
Muscle supports your metabolism.Muscle protects your joints.Muscle helps you stay independent.Muscle is also linked to better cognitive function and brain health as we get older.
The scary part?
After 35, we naturally start losing muscle.
And many women don’t realize it until their body starts changing.
Their metabolism slows down.They lose shape.Their energy drops.Their body fat increases even though they’re still eating “healthy” and exercising.
In fact, most women who come to work with me are already doing something.
They’re working out.They’re trying to eat healthy.They’re putting in effort.
But what worked in their 30s is no longer working in their 40s and 50s.
They’re under-fueling.Not getting enough protein.Doing too much cardio.Following workouts that burn calories but don’t build muscle.

Post op update 🙃
Today I’m 6 days post surgery and honestly doing way better than I expected.
I’ve got 6 weeks in a cast, so right now it’s all about adapting and reinventing how I move. Before surgery I was walking 15-20km a day. Now a few walks outside with crutches feels like a full plyometric session 😂
But I’m still showing up.
Battle ropes outside, weighted ball slams, upper body workouts, and a LOT of single leg work on my right side since it’s carrying basically all my body weight right now.

No excuses, just adjustments.
This injury has definitely reminded me how much we take movement for granted sometimes. But at the same time, it’s also showing me how resilient the body really is when you keep working with it instead of against it.
And today is my first physical therapy session 🙏
We rebuild. One day at a time.

These ladies are now on the level 2 and Yara level 12 and seeing them doing their own pull-ups, getting stronger, building muscle, and completely transforming their confidence is so inspiring to watch.
None of them started there.
Every woman starts somewhere. A few bands, assisted reps, learning proper form, building strength little by little… and then one day your body starts doing things you never thought possible.
That’s what consistency does.
That’s what happens when you stop jumping from thing to thing and actually trust the process long enough.
Stronger muscles.
Stronger mindset.
Stronger women.
And the best part… this is the kind of strength that stays with you for life 💪

Just had my meniscus repair surgery today 🙏🏻
Everything went well, but I’m not gonna lie… I was terrified to go under the knife 😅
The good news is my meniscus was able to be repaired instead of removed. 🙏🏻 It had flipped inside the joint, which is why my knee completely locked. Repairing it gives me a much better outcome long term instead of removing part of it and risking more issues later on.
Now comes the fun part 😂
6 weeks on crutches and a total of about 6 months before being fully back to normal activities.
The shower alone is about to become an Olympic sport lol.
But I’m actually taking this as a challenge and also as a learning experience. I work with so many women who had knee replacements, meniscus injuries, surgeries, rehab, chronic pain… so going through this myself will make me an even better coach.
A few years ago after a skydiving 🪂 accident I injured my ankle and back pretty badly and spent months on crutches too, so this is not my first rodeo 😅 My ankle fully recovered, so I know the body is incredible when you give it time and do the rehab properly.
And yes… I probably owe this knee a little apology 😂 Between years of plyos, jumping, heavy training, skydiving, wind tunnel training and a few rough landings… my older friends warning me “you’ll pay for this later” were apparently right lol.
I’m also incredibly grateful for my husband ❤️He was supposed to be flying today, but when my surgeon had a last minute cancellation and could get me in immediately, he flew back home to be with me. Feeling very lucky to have him by my side through this.
Also so thankful for my amazing coaching team helping support our clients while I recover. The girls are incredible and everything is still running 💪🏼
