Great trip to the to check out the Honcho and Chenowth Wedge....along with countless Indy 500 winning cars a 100+ years of Indy 500 history. The Bud Honcho is literally the first car in view in a sea of legendary open wheels cars. We had an amazing tour of the Mears exhibit along with the basement that holds more history and racecars than the main floor(no pictures allowed in the basement). The museum is amazing and well worth the trip for all gearheads and race fans!

The Bud Honcho World Tour has begun at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum!
The Bud Honcho is part of the Rocket Rick Mears and Mears Gang history exhibit that commemorates the 30th anniversary of Ricks 4th Indy 500 win. On display are winning cars from Indy, Pikes Peak and Baja along with memorabilia, video and images.
Off Road Racing is one of the many racing disciplines that helped shape the Mears Gang legacy, so the museum of course included a couple of the Mears Gangs most significant off road cars. Along with the Bud Honcho, the Mears Gang Chenowth Wedge was extracted from the Chenowth Legacy Lodge in Percebu Baja Mx.
If you’re in the area..or even if you’re not, the IMS Museum is worth a visit. The museum is home to legendary race cars and memorabilia since racing began and is also home of the IMS Hall of Fame.
