Congratulations to Danny Medina, PGA, and Glen Griffith, PGA, on capturing the 2026 Southern Arizona Chapter PGA Team Match Play Championship with a 4 & 3 victory over Chuck Stopani and Luke Houchin in the Championship Match!

Our Team Match Play Championship is one of the most unique events on our tournament calendar. Beginning June 1, teams of two PGA Professionals compete in a scramble match play format throughout the summer, with matches scheduled and coordinated entirely by the professionals themselves.

Teams compete throughout the summer for the opportunity to advance to the semifinals in August and ultimately the Championship Match in September.

A huge thank you to all of the facilities throughout the Southern Arizona Chapter PGA that welcomed our professionals and provided opportunities for these matches to be played. Your hospitality and continued support of our PGA Professionals make events like this possible.

Thank you as well to every professional who competed this season and helped make another year of Team Match Play a success!

Congratulations again to our 2026 Champions, Danny Medina and Glen Griffith! 🏆

A championship like this would not be possible without the tremendous support of our partners. Thank you to Brian Bissell with Nova Home Loans, PING, StrackaLine and Tucson Country Club for their commitment to our Chapter and our PGA Professionals. Their partnership helped us increase our championship purses and provide an outstanding experience for our players.

A special thank you to the entire team at Tucson Country Club for once again being incredible hosts. A special thank you goes out to Steven Elias, PGA, as the host professional and Patrick O’Connor, General Manager/COO, for all of his support of the championship. Congratulations to Wayne Clark, PGA on winning the Southern Arizona Chapter PGA Senior Match Play Championship at The Preserve Golf Club! 🏆

Wayne is the Head Golf Professional at The Preserve and he credited his course knowledge as the difference down the stretch in a battle that went the distance, closing it out 2&1 over JD Lindberg.

JD will represent the Chapter on the national stage at the Senior PGA Professional Championship. Congrats to JD as well, and thank you for the great final match.

The course was in excellent shape all week, and it meant a lot to have members from The Preserve out following the matches and cheering Wayne on. Thank you to everyone at The Preserve for hosting us.

Up next: the Southern Arizona Chapter PGA Championship at Tucson Country Club, Wednesday September 23rd and Thursday September 24th, the final tournament of our season. ⛳️

What an incredible day at Dorado Country Club! ⛳️

Our Southern Arizona Chapter PGA Professionals, along with their friends and families, came together for a day filled with camaraderie, fun, and an incredible 72 holes of golf, all in one day!

Everyone came together for a great cause. Through the incredible efforts and generosity of everyone involved, $136,000 was raised to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona, AVIVA Children’s Services, and the Southwest PGA Foundation. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Southwest PGA Foundation for all of their hard work in making Birdies for Good possible, and to the entire team and membership at Dorado Country Club for opening their doors to us, taking such great care of everyone, and helping make the day so special.

Thank you as to every PGA Professional, participant, donor, volunteer, family member, and supporter who played a part in making this incredible day possible.

72 holes. $136,000 raised. One incredible day of golf giving back to our Southern Arizona community.

This is what the game of golf and the Southern AZ Chapter PGA are all about. ⛳️❤️
