🐘 The Samui Elephant Sanctuary was an amazing part of our Thailand yoga retreat this year! Watch to the end for a beautiful elephant send off ❤️

At Samui Elephant Sanctuary they take the time to educate guests on the real and tragic problems working elephants face and the importance of ethically rescuing them. Our lead guide, Apple, urged us to spread the word… PLEASE DON’T RIDE ELEPHANTS OR SUPPORT PLACES THAT USE WORKING ELEPHANTS!

We picked this sanctuary because of their dedication to preserving the best quality of life for their elephants. We had the opportunity to interact with them by preparing food and feeding them (with guidance). As we walked around the sanctuary we got to watch the elephants as they explored their space. Each elephant had a history of abuse and a life that needed saving.

🇹🇭 Dear Thailand,
We miss you already. Part one.

We have so much gratitude for Samahita Retreat and the space they offer. The open practice spaces helped connect our postures to the present moment and offered reminded us of those who practiced before us. Beyond our time on the mat, there were hours spent connecting over coffee and meals in the shared spaces at Samahita. Thank you to our student for sharing your stories, your time, and your memories with us.
