One week ago Jeremiah Paseka took on the challenge of doing 24 straight hours of cardio, to support his mother, Bev, who is battling cancer. Jeremiah, with a little help from his wife Abby, worked to accrue over 12,000 calories. Friends who stopped by the gym to work beside Jeremiah accumulated a grand total of 24,140 calories in just 24 hours! The donations gathered totaled over $2,000 to go toward Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. We are so proud of Jeremiah's fierce determination and are so grateful for the way our community has rallied around his family. We want to be a fitness community where the community is valued more than the fitness, and this was a beautiful example of that in action. What an accomplishment!

What's going on with Saturday mornings? Well, switching back and forth between Oly and Run Club was getting confusing. We've decided that we'll have Oly every Saturday. If you want running programming and show up on Saturdays, Ryan will give you something to work on independently, while he's coaching the Oly group. We'll also be working on getting more trail running opportunities going. Many of you have really been enjoying getting a few miles in on the Winona Trails, so we'll have more ways for you to do that in the very near future. Stay tuned!

The weekend of July 18-19 there were two Haymaker teams who traveled to Muskegon to participate in the Fresh Coast Fitness Festival. Patrick, Shane, and Harlan competed in the Intermediate Division while Jacob, AP, and Jerry were in the RX division. This has grown to be a huge event and is a chance to compete along some of the most legendary names in CrossFit. We're happy that our athletes were willing to test themselves, work together, and represent us so well. Way to go!!

Jeremiah is just over one week from his 24-hr max cardio challenge. We checked in with him today to check and see how prep is going. He is ready. He's ready to support his mom's fight against cancer, he's ready to support Cancer Services if Northeast Indiana. He's ready to give it his all. Training is going well. Raising awareness is going well. Where he's struggling is donations. So far... none. Let's change that!!
If you'd like to support Jeremiah, his mom Bev, and other people who are facing an intimidating and life-altering cancer diagnosis, we encourage you to send a little something to -Sabol via Venmo. Donations will be passed on to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana after the challenge.
Here's a little bit of what Jeremiah's mom, Bev, had to say about Jeremiah supporting her in this fight: "Inspired by another’s hard journey, Jeremiah came to me and said, “Mom, you are going through some extremely hard stuff, and I’d like to do something hard to help support an organization that helps to make cancer a little bit easier. To say the least this Mom’s heart was blown away💞 so if you can come out and support Jeremiah, by joining in, cheering him on and later there will be a way to give to the Northeast Cancer Services. Let’s do this! 💪🩷"
