This week is our FIRST MDA Fun Week of the season!

All dancers are invited to bring their favorite stuffed toy friend to dance with them in class all week! 🧸

At Melissa’s Dance Academy, we love giving our dancers a fun week each month filled with creative and exciting ways to enjoy their dance classes while continuing to learn, grow, and have fun! 🌟

Thank you to all of our amazing MDA dancers and volunteers for making it a memorable and fun rainy day! ☔️

It may have rained on our parade, but we made the very best of it! 🌧️❤️ Our dedicated dancers were determined to perform, even in the cold, wet weather, and we couldn’t be more proud of their enthusiasm and commitment!

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful dance families and volunteers who braved the weather and supported our dancers. We truly love our MDA family!

WHAT IS A BALLET EXAM REALLY TEACHING?

A ballet examination is about so much more than learning the steps.

Within the Cecchetti Method, examinations give dancers an opportunity to put their training into practice while developing skills that extend far beyond the studio.

✨Preparation — learning the value of consistent, purposeful work
🎶 Musical Awareness — understanding and responding to the music
🩰 Technical Understanding — developing precision, control, coordination, and knowledge
🎭 Performance Skills — bringing artistry, expression, and intention to movement
💫 Confidence — learning to trust your training and yourself
🎯 Goal Setting — working toward something meaningful and measurable
💪 Self-Discipline — discovering that progress comes from commitment and perseverance

The CCA examinations assess both technical proficiency and artistic understanding — because a well-rounded dancer needs both.

And perhaps one of the greatest lessons of all?

Learning how to prepare, step forward, and give your very best.

That is something a dancer can carry with them far beyond the examination room.
