Titans of 10.5 races are always a blast, but when you add in Hot Summer Nights and Mr. Beezley, two things are guaranteed: it’s going to be insanely hot, and there’s going to be some bad ass cars and racing.

This weekend did not disappoint.

This was our third attempt on the little 26” tires, and after a week of making some changes, we were able to make some really good progress. First run Friday, the ole banana made it down the track while most were spinning, so we knew we were headed in the right direction.

We made it to Round 1 and were able to squeak by Darci with a 4.83, which sent us on to Round 2.

And it seems to never fail - headed into the second round lined up against Rodney Dowell. His car is always consistent, so Chris Lovett put some more power into the car. It was a good race, but Rodney got to the stripe first. Even with the loss, we were able to go 4.77 @ 155, and we’re proud of the progress.

We have a few more changes we want to make before the next race in September, but we’re excited to keep moving forward.

It was also a great weekend getting to catch up with race car friends. Huge thank you to Devin Brown for helping get the suspension headed in the right direction. Chris with Wichita Dyno has been spot on, and now that the suspension is working better with the little tires, he’s able to give her more power.

Sandra, as always, could not do this without your help.

Brian Wise and Shannon Wise, it was great seeing you two and thank you, Brian, for getting the car lined up.

On a side note, Andrew Lovett little pickle of a car is doing great. For a foot-braking car, he’s really getting it down the track. We even got to celebrate Andrew’s birthday with some vodka pickle shots. 10 out of 10 recommend.

See everyone in Tulsa for the next Titan’s 10.5 race September 11-12!

We have to give a huge shoutout to Jonny Allen with Jonny Allen Media for the incredible work he did this past weekend.

We’ve been lucky to see so many talented photographers capture moments at the track, and we truly appreciate the time, skill, and creativity that goes into this kind of work. This past weekend, Jonny absolutely knocked it out of the park.

From the quality of the photos, to the attention to detail, to the overall experience, we could not be happier with what he delivered. And the turnaround? Impressive. Having a couple dozen edited photos back to us in just a couple days was such a treat.

One of the biggest highlights for us was finally getting a full-bloom parachute shot - something we’ve been hoping to capture for years. Jonny nailed it, and we’re still not over it.

Make sure you check out his full album from Ozark Raceway Park. And if you’re wanting exclusive photos of your own car, reach out to Jonny about his packages, he'll be at Mid America Dragway this weekend. He will not disappoint.

The obligatory race weekend recap. 😊 This was our first time visiting Ozark Raceway Park — as racers or spectators — and wow, what a great facility with an even better staff. Everyone was on their A-game all weekend, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better track to play with.

It was a great weekend filled with loads of sunshine, plenty of heat, and a whole lot of progress. Friday was a strong day of qualifiers. Each pass got better and better, and for the first time all season, we were able to start adding power back into the car. We had one little hiccup Friday night, but nothing Mr. Tony Phillips “the Great” couldn’t handle.

We are incredibly thankful for the Phillips family and everyone on the T and S Race Cars crew. They never hesitate to jump in and help another racer in need - even when they’re dealing with their own gremlins. They just divide and conquer.

Saturday we were given two more qualifiers and continued to feel good about the direction we were headed. Unfortunately, we ended up going out in the first round of eliminations. After a weekend of catching “that burnout was trash,” we may have overcorrected just a bit. The burnout in the elimination round was a thing of beauty… but unfortunately, it left the tires too hot.

While it’s never fun to go out early, we could not be more grateful or proud of how the weekend went. We made solid progress, gathered good data, and even got the chance to hang out and do a little spectating. Congratulations to everyone who took home a win this weekend.

A huge thank you as well to Chris Lovett with Wichita Dyno for always making himself available to help tune the car, even from afar. We truly wouldn’t be able to get this street car down the track without his expertise, knowledge, and continued support.

We’re looking forward to continuing to push forward and seeing everyone at Hot Summer Nights in August… if not sooner.

Happiest Birthday to the matriarch of Aves Performance Racing - Sandielee Aves.

None of this would be possible without her unwavering support, endless patience, and complete inability to say “no” to our endearing driver, Troy Aves.

Having a birthday in June - right in the middle of race season - is never easy. There have been plenty of delayed, deferred, and fully punted birthday celebrations over the years, because as we all know… everything yields to race day.

We love her, we appreciate her more than words can say, and we are wishing her the happiest of birthdays today... while we load the trailer to head to, you guessed it, a birthday weekend race.

Happy Birthday! We love you!

It’s race weekend and we’re headed to Ozark Raceway Park!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone, making some hits, and playing with this little street car a bit. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, come on out for some great racing and stop by to take a closer look at the car.

Who knows... maybe you’ll even take it home with you.

Well, Mother Nature had other plans for tonight.

After working through a few sticky issues last night, we were finally able to make a quick pass. The track was good for a test n tune night. We have so much power pulled out trying to figure out what these 26” tires want We were finally able to get it to hook off the hit. Tire started to chatter just past the 60’ but she went straight. Now we can start trying to add power back in to get where we need to be. Confident we can now start working to get back to where car was last year

We were really looking forward to getting back out there tonight, but with weather moving in, tonight’s event at Kansas International Dragway has been cancelled.

Huge thank you to Josh Kliewer and the whole KID team for inviting us back out and for all the work they’re putting into the track. The change was in the prep, the atmosphere, and positive attitude is noticeable. It felt great being back after being gone for years, and we’re excited to see what they continue building out there.

It’s tough to make solid data-gathering hits in the heat of a race like Titans of 10.5 - especially when you’re up to 8 hours from home - which makes local Test N Tune events so incredibly important.

We’ll regroup, keep chipping away, and look forward to the next opportunity to put this little ole street car back on the track.
