Four things she carries that nobody sees

One. The mental list that never shuts off. Who needs picking up. What is running low. Whose birthday is coming. Who has been too quiet lately and might not be OK. It runs while she is asleep.

Two. The peace she keeps by saying nothing. Every time she let something go, not because it did not matter to her, but because she decided the house needed calm more than she needed to be right. Nobody counts those. She does.

Three. The prayer she prays for him that he will never hear. Some of you men have been covered for years by a woman who never told you she was doing it. You were standing on ground she prayed you onto.

Four. The hope she has not put down yet. After the years. After the disappointment. After every reason she was handed to Stop expecting anything to change. She is still holding it

If you know, a woman like this, today is a good day to say thank you. Not for what she does. For what she carries.

And if you are her, hear this. You were never supposed to hold it alone.

You are the one everyone calls.

You remember every birthday. You make the plate for the person who could not come.

You are the one who texts first after the argument so the family does not fracture over something small.

You have been the glue so long that nobody thinks to ask if you are okay. Not because they do not love you. Because you made it look easy, and people believe what they see.
Here is the part I want you to actually hear.
You are not tired of loving them. You would do it again tomorrow. You are tired of carrying it by yourself.

There is a difference, and it matters, because the second one has a solution and the first one does not need one.

God sees the one who holds everyone else up. He is not waiting for you to collapse before He notices. He has been in the room the entire time.

Put something down today. One thing. Nothing falls apart.
