We Can Row Wilmington is a community for breast cancer survivors and previvors. No rowing experience needed, only an enthusiastic spirit!

We provide strength, friendship, healing and community that rowing offers both in boats and on ergs.

We had the pleasure of hosting We Can Row DC and We Can Row Philly today. We had great weather, amazing row and even more incredible time getting to know each other. More pictures and video will be shared soon!

The weather was less than favorable last Thursday so we stayed inside the boathouse. We spent time with one of Julie's High School rowers, Camille. She is working on a project on Breast Cancer. She wanted to gather our stories and opinions on our experiences and the future of treatments.

Thursday was a beautiful night for a row. We had to doge some debris from storms earlier in the week, but our volunteer coxswain, Phil, was up for the challenge. We did some pieces and lots of drills to get ready for future regattas with the Survivor Rowing Network. We're still trying to grow our group so it's been rare when we can get an eight together. We are very lucky to have amazing volunteers from Wilmington Rowing Center who will step in to help when needed. We teamed up with Under the Bridge Rowing Club for the Survivor Row in the Diamond State Masters. Coach Julie in bow, Megan in 2 seat, Amy in 3 seat, and Suze in stroke.

We feel so fortunate to have all of the support we received from spectators and racers in wait. It was a great event hosted by Wilmington Rowing Center and their amazing volunteers.

Special thanks goes out to Ren for prerace sweets, Valerie for showing up to help carry, for support, and photos, Amy's husband Bryan for photos, and Kevin for being our coach when Julie isn't available and for helping us carry after the row.
