These girls have exceeded all expectations. We put this very young team together over the course of a few indoor practices in the winter at the Hive. Several of the girls came from different schools and different states and didn't know each other. The coaching was an unknown to many of them. There were players that turned down the opportunity to join this team. There were and still are people that want to see this team fail. We are happy to keep disappointing them.

Today, this team battled through adversity, and won their second tournament in a row. There were several opportunities for these girls to quit, blame it on the umpires, blame it on bad luck, blame it on missing two of our key players (we miss you Kori and Reagan!), but that didn't happen. They fought to the very end and earned everything. 

Congratulations girls! I couldn't be more proud to call myself your coach.

A special thank you to Hagerstown Community College Hawks Head Softball Coach Patrick Sherman for coming out to watch us play, and then speaking to the team! It was really informative to hear a College Head Coach's perspective on what he looks for in student-athletes and a great opportunity for the girls to ask some questions! Thanks Coach!

After the disappointment of last week’s final game getting canceled due to rain when we were on our way to our first tournament win, these girls came out today and played like there was unfinished business. They played lights out from the first pitch.

We won our first tournament! We finished 3-0 on the day, with every game ending early by the mercy rule.

As proud as I am of the wins, I’m even more proud of how these girls are playing together. They trust each other, pick each other up, celebrate each other, and play unselfish softball. The chemistry this team is building is special.

I can’t express how proud I am of these girls and how much work they’ve put in!

Super proud of these girls. Went 1-1 in pool play then absolutely turned it on when it counted. Knocked off the #3 seed in the opposite bracket, then took out the overall #1 seed that was previously 15-2-1 on the season. We were up 2-1 in the top of the 3rd inning of the Championship game and the lightning and rain caused the tournament to be concluded. Because the game hadn't gone 3 full innings, the game didn't revert to the end of the last inning, which we were winning, but to the seeding, and we were the lower seed. That resulted in a Runner-Up finish, despite being in the lead in the Championship game. It wasn't the way we wanted the day to end, and I know our competition didn't want to win that way either.

This team loves playing with and for each other. They put so much heart into the game, and I hate to see their tournament end like that. It definitely stings, but there will be other weekends, other tournaments, and more opportunities. They have come so far in such a short amount of time and they are going to keep on climbing!
