Hip dysplasia is one of the most common orthopedic conditions affecting our pets, particularly dogs - but cats can suffer from it too. 🐾

Because pets often adapt to pain gradually, the signs can be easy to overlook until significant arthritis has developed. Learning what to watch for can help your pet receive treatment earlier and stay active and comfortable for longer.

If your fur-baby is suffering from hip dysplasia, and you need help, don't hesitate to reach out to us about our weight management or pain relief physio programs.

BREAKING NEWS: French Bulldog puppy discovers gravity. Gravity wins.

Meet Trixie! 💕

Like many Frenchie puppies, Trixie is powered by equal parts enthusiasm, curiosity, and questionable decision-making. During one particularly energetic play session, she learned an important life lesson: furniture is not, in fact, the most stable balance board.

After taking an unplanned nose dive and sustaining a fracture, Trixie has been coming to us for physiotherapy to help her heal, regain strength, and get back to doing what she does best - being a happy, mischievous puppy.

Despite her injury, Trixie hasn't let anything dampen her spirits. She still arrives with a wagging tail, plenty of kisses, and tons of energy.

To help keep her safer in the future, she's also enrolled in our puppy training course, where she's learning important skills like impulse control, confidence building, and hopefully... that not every elevated surface is a mountain worth scaling.

We're so proud of this little lady and the progress she's making. Keep up the great work, Trixie! We're all rooting for your speedy recovery. More thriving, less diving!

Our pets are living longer than ever before, which means we're seeing more age-related conditions such as Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS), often referred to as dementia in pets.

Many of the signs can be subtle at first and are often mistaken for "normal ageing." Understanding the symptoms, the DISHAA assessment, and the important connection between chronic pain and cognitive decline can help owners seek support earlier and improve their pet's quality of life.

Early recognition, appropriate pain management, environmental support, and veterinary guidance can make a significant difference for our senior companions. ❤️🐾 Reach out to us if you have any questions about supporting your ageing pet.

Meet Lucy: Professional Puzzle Solver, Part-Time Physio Patient, Full-Time Boss Lady 😎

Lucy, our feisty little Jack Russell/Fox Terrier cross, is proving that dynamite (and determination) comes in small packages!

She's currently undergoing physiotherapy as part of a conservative treatment plan to help delay major surgery, and we couldn't be prouder of the progress she's making. Every session is met with her trademark attitude: equal parts grit, intelligence, and just a sprinkle of terrier sass.

When she's not working hard on her rehabilitation, Lucy keeps her family on their toes with her impressive brainpower. Puzzle toys don't stand a chance against this clever girl - Dad only has to show her how they work twice before she's mastered them and moved on to the next challenge.

Living with Addison's disease hasn't slowed her down either. Lucy approaches life with the same fighting spirit she brings to physio. She's a tough little cookie, a determined patient, and a true example of resilience. That said, Lucy would like everyone to know that she is NOT a morning person. Early appointments are tolerated rather than appreciated, and she reserves the right to express her opinions about them.

A huge part of Lucy's success comes from her incredibly dedicated family. They are wonderfully diligent with her treatment plan and go above and beyond to ensure she receives the very best care every single day. Rehabilitation is always a team effort, and Lucy has an exceptional team standing behind her.

Keep up the amazing work, Lucy! We can't wait to see what this clever, courageous little madam achieves next.

A very very sad goodbye to Blade.

We will always remember him for his sweet, gentle nature, and the extreme patience and calm he brought into every physiotherapy session. He was much loved by his family, and enjoyed curling up beneath a warm blanket for naps, and most of all he loved playing in his ball pit as much as he possibly could. Though he couldn’t see or hear very well, he could always tell when dinner was on the way (if dinner hour approached, he was sure to let you know!) and would make sure he was at the very front of the queue.

Some of his family's most treasured memories are of Blade running alongside his dad on the beach in Cape Town, matching him step for step without ever needing a leash - a perfect little pair, moving together as one. His mom remembers how every attempt to give him a kiss on the nose was met with Blade trying to "eat" it instead.

He loved his walks, provided they didn't involve wet or muddy paws, and he filled his home with countless small moments of joy, comfort, and love. Blade was deeply cherished, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him. We are grateful to have been part of his journey and send our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Run free, sweet boy.

Meet Holly 💛

When Holly first joined us for behavioural modification training, the world felt like a very big and very overwhelming place. This beautiful doodle struggled with confidence and found many everyday situations difficult to navigate. Strangers, other dogs, motorcycles (especially motorcycles!), cars on the road, and even travelling in a vehicle could all trigger strong reactions and leave her feeling stressed and uncomfortable.

Together with her incredibly dedicated family, we began a desensitisation and counter-conditioning behaviour modification programme designed to help Holly feel safer, more confident, and better equipped to cope with the world around her. We also started working on loose-leash walking skills, helping her learn that walks can be calm, enjoyable adventures rather than stressful experiences.

The transformation has been remarkable!

After just three sessions, Holly is already showing us a completely different side of herself. Her confidence has blossomed, her reactions have reduced dramatically, she is no longer extremely reactive, and she is learning that not every unfamiliar person, dog, car, or motorcycle is something to worry about.

One of our proudest moments came during her most recent session. Holly calmly sat outside with our social media manager and Jonas nearby. We approached her one at a time, offered treats, and casually walked away again. Not only did she remain relaxed, but she handled the entire exercise beautifully, showing a level of calmness and self-control that would have seemed impossible when she first arrived.

Of course, success stories like Holly's don't happen through training sessions alone. Her wonderful family has put in an enormous amount of work at home, following through with her programme and supporting her every step of the way. Their commitment has played a huge role in helping Holly achieve such fantastic progress.

We are so proud of this sweet girl. Watching her gain confidence, learn new skills, and discover that the world isn't quite so scary has been an absolute privilege. We can't wait to see how much more she achieves as her journey continues.
