We’re constantly evolving how we coach, how we train, how we mentor and how we create an experience that keeps kids excited to come back.

Because the goal isn’t simply to deliver another cricket session.

It’s to give every child access to better coaching, better guidance and better opportunities to grow — as cricketers and as people.

Because we’ve realised something.

Developing a great cricketer and developing a great child shouldn’t be two different things.

At SMASH, we’re not interested in simply teaching kids how to bat straighter, bowl faster or catch better.

We want to build confident, resilient, capable young people who happen to be learning those lessons through cricket.

Kids who learn to fail without fearing failure.
To compete without losing the fun.
To work with others.
To communicate.
To solve problems.
To back themselves.
To keep showing up when things get difficult.

Because long after the bats are packed away, those skills still matter.

That’s why SMASH is evolving beyond the traditional idea of a cricket academy.

We’re building a holistic child development academy, using cricket as one of the greatest classrooms a child could ever have.

Yes, we want to develop better cricketers.

But the child comes before the cricketer. Always.

And on 1 September 2026, we’re taking another big step towards that vision.

Every child walks onto the field with a dream of who they might become.

Our job isn’t to rush them there.

It’s to build the system around them that helps mould them into it.

And given enough time, confidence starts turning dreams into something real.

That’s why we don’t chase overnight results with kids.

We build the right environment.
We give them great coaches.

Child development is a lot like building with LEGO.

You don’t start with the biggest, most impressive piece at the top.

You start at the bottom.

One block at a time.
One skill at a time.
One experience at a time.

Confidence. Coordination. Resilience. Teamwork. Discipline. Courage.

These are the foundations.

And just like sporting skills, they take time to build.

When we rush children through the process because we’re chasing results, selections, trophies or the next level, we can end up trying to build a big structure on a foundation that isn’t ready to hold it.

But when the base is strong, something exciting happens.

You can keep building.
You can keep moulding.
You can keep adding new skills.
And the structure can go higher than you ever imagined.

At SMASH, we’re not interested in building the best 8-year-old cricketer.

We’re interested in helping build the person underneath the player, so that whatever level they eventually reach, they have the foundations to handle it.

Because great players aren’t built overnight.

And neither are great kids.

SMASH - Building more than cricketers.

We’re not a cricket company.

Read that again.

Yes, we teach kids how to hold a bat.
How to bowl.
How to catch.
How to score runs.

But one day, they’ll put the bat down for the last time.

And when they do, we want them to leave with something far more important than a better cover drive.

Because your child probably won’t remember their batting average when they’re 30.

But they’ll remember the feeling in their stomach before walking out to bat.

They’ll remember the teammate who put an arm around them after they got out.

They’ll remember the first time they realised, “I can do this.”

They’ll remember getting out for a duck on Saturday…
and finding the courage to come back to training on Tuesday.

And years from now, when life gives them moments that feel exactly like that… disappointment, pressure, fear, failure, we hope a little part of what they learned here comes back.

Keep going.

That’s what we’re really coaching.

We want kids to fall in love with sport, not feel like they have to perform for it.

To build confidence that doesn’t disappear when the scoreboard says zero.

To understand what it means to belong to a team.

To celebrate someone else’s success.

To lose.

To fail.

To try again.

To discover that being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t nervous.
It means you walk out to bat anyway.

Because trophies gather dust.

Scores are forgotten.

And eventually, childhood ends.

But the kid who learns to believe in themselves, pick themselves up and keep showing up?

They carry that person with them for the rest of their life.

The bat, the ball and the pads are just the tools.

Cricket is simply the room we get to build them in.

Fun first. Always.

But don’t mistake fun for soft.

At SMASH, play is the method. Every game, every drill, every bit of chaos on the pitch is doing a job — building skill, building confidence, building a kid who asks to come back on Tuesday.

We celebrate the small wins loudly. We hold the standard quietly. Kids don’t feel the coaching happening — they just get better while they’re having the time of their lives.

No benchwarmers. No pressure. No cricket-dad intensity.

Just real progress, disguised as the best hour of their week.

Two years ago, SMASH was just an idea. A belief that kids deserve better than being over coached, benched, bored, or told they're not good enough for the game.

Now it's real. We've watched it happen right in front of us — a system built from scratch, a team that's grown from a handful of us to a family, and hundreds of kids who run through the gates instead of dragging their feet.

We remember the quiet ones. The kids who stood at the back, too shy to ask for the ball. Watching them find their voice, their mates, their swagger — that's the bit that gets us every time.

We started this to change some lives. Somewhere along the way, they changed ours too.

Every small win, every proud parent, every kid who didn't want practice to end — that's two years of SMASH.

And the family's still growing. We've got something big coming soon. Can't wait to share it with you all.
