𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏 & 𝟐𝟐 (𝟏𝟕–𝟏𝟖 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲) – 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 🛣️🇿🇦

After an unforgettable few weeks on the road, it was finally time to point the LC300 and our BorderX Arte Expedition towards home.

We travelled from Kasane straight to the 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁. We arrived just before dark, and although the border was fairly busy, the process went surprisingly smoothly.

Just 3.5 km from the border we discovered an absolute hidden gem – 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐬.  We stayed at the 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞, perfectly positioned on the banks of the Limpopo River. Even though we only decided during the day that we would spend the night there, the team had all the lights on and everything ready for our arrival. Before long, the owners also stopped by to welcome us personally and make sure we had everything we needed. It was such a warm welcome after a long day’s drive.

We enjoyed a peaceful evening under the stars, and when we woke up the next morning we could truly appreciate just how beautiful the campsite is. This is far more than just a convenient overnight stop before or after the border – it’s a destination in its own right. Next time we’ll definitely plan to stay for at least two nights and simply soak up the tranquillity.

And just like that, our adventure came to an end.

Final day at Sondela! ☀️🏕️

It's our last day at the Sondela show, and we're looking forward to making the most of it!

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎 (𝟏𝟔 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲) - 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐚

Today was our day to explore Chobe National Park. We spent the morning driving through the park before stopping at Chobe Safari Lodge for a few drinks with a beautiful view over the Chobe River. We saw a fair number of animals, but not quite as many as we had hoped for.

Around midday we headed back to the campsite to relax, and Lukas spoiled us with some delicious homemade scones.

In the afternoon, we headed back into the park, but this time Seth took the wheel while Mom and Dad enjoyed the luxury of sitting in the back. The boys had an absolute blast up front, and it was wonderful to watch them enjoying every moment.

This second drive certainly didn't disappoint. We were rewarded with fantastic wildlife sightings and ended the day on a real high. Chobe once again reminded us why it's such a special place to visit.

Our holiday is now sadly drawing to a close. Tomorrow we'll be pointing our trusty L300 and 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐗 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 south towards home in South Africa, taking with us another collection of unforgettable memories.
