What you are about to witness in this video is Leandre wrestling in a gold medal match at the African Championships in Alexandria, Egypt. What an incredible stage on which to live your dreams.

To add to the magnitude of this moment, this year there are only a handful of such finals in world wrestling. This 110kg final stands alongside those at the Pan American Championships, European Championships, Asian Championships, Oceania Championships, and of course, the World U/17 Championships.

Words cannot fully do justice to what we have witnessed this evening.

I am a firm believer that we hunt as a pack, and Coach Reynhard’s presence in Leandre’s corner must not go unnoticed. This achievement is not just individual—it reflects the strength of the team behind the athlete.

Our “go for gold” vision is being actively pursued, with every wrestler, coach, and parent giving everything they have towards this goal.

Thank you for your continued support. We now look ahead to Thursday’s matches, where Rohan, Juan, Slade, and Luvaan will step into the arena.

What a wonderful experience working with our Legionnaires! These young wrestlers are our future Proteas, and we are proud to be building real depth within our club. From ages 4 to 20, our Warriors are standing strong and growing every day.

A big thank you to Coach Shane and Coach Reynhard for their leadership. Our young coaches also played an important role in making the event a success.

Special appreciation to Shadow for handling the braai and cool drinks, with Otto and Engela contributing in their own special way. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Following the National Trials for the African Championship in Egypt 2026, we are proud to announce that six of our wrestlers have been selected for the U/17 and U/20 National Teams, representing South Africa at the highest level.

We are also proud that Coach Reynhard will accompany our wrestlers and represent Team SA as a coach for both the U/17 and U/20 teams.

This achievement reflects the hard work, discipline, and commitment of our athletes and coaching staff.
