💚 Making a Difference, One Donation at a Time! 💚

On 6 July, members of 1st Cambridge Scout Group had the privilege of delivering the donated stationery and toiletry items for the Hobbiton Cape Parrot Holiday Camp.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, these essential items will help provide 120 underprivileged children from rural communities with the necessities they need to enjoy an unforgettable holiday camp filled with adventure, learning, friendship, and the beauty of nature.

A heartfelt THANK You to every individual, family, and business who donated. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference in the lives of these young people. ❤️

At Scouts, we believe in serving our community, and it was an honour to play a small part in helping make this amazing initiative possible.

KESTRELS PATROL – STRIKES, LAUGHS & GREAT MEMORIES!

What an awesome afternoon out for Kestrels Patrol! They headed to Hemingways for an action-packed game of 10-pin bowling, where the competition was fierce, the strikes were flying, and the laughs never stopped!

After working up an appetite, they made their way to Spur for some well-deserved treats and held their Patrol-in-Council (PIC) meeting. Great food, exciting ideas, and plenty of teamwork made it the perfect way to wrap up the afternoon.

Days like these remind us that Scouts is about so much more than badges and camping, it's about friendship, leadership, teamwork, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

What a Fantastic Evening at Our Soup & Sherry Fundraiser!

Last night's Soup & Sherry Fundraiser at 1st Cambridge Scout Group was another incredible success! From delicious homemade soups and warming sherry to plenty of laughter, great company, and a wonderful community atmosphere, it was an evening to remember.

Adding to the magic of the evening was our incredible electric violinist, whose spectacular performance had everyone captivated. The unique blend of modern music and dazzling talent created the perfect atmosphere and made the night even more memorable.

Events like these are about so much more than great food, they play a vital role in keeping our Scout Group thriving. Every bowl enjoyed, every ticket purchased, and every bit of support helps us maintain our equipment, invest in new gear for exciting adventures, keep our hall in great condition, and ensure our membership fees remain as affordable as possible for our families.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, cooked, served, organised, and supported the event. A special thank you to our talented electric violinist for providing such fantastic entertainment and helping make the evening one to remember.

Your generosity and community spirit make all the difference, and we couldn't do it without you. Here's to another successful fundraiser and many more memorable evenings together!

Global Domino Challenge... and what a challenge it was!

Our Scouters and a few Scouts took on the Global Domino Challenge, putting their teamwork, strategy, patience, and problem-solving skills to the test. Every domino counted, every decision mattered, and there were plenty of laughs, determination, and exciting moments along the way!

Whether the dominoes stood tall or came tumbling down, our Scouts never gave up. They showed fantastic teamwork, encouraged one another, and proved that every challenge is another opportunity to learn and grow.

A huge thank you to the Beaconhurst Primary for hosting us at your hall. We had an incredible time and can't wait for the next challenge!

Kestrels Patrol Hike – What an Adventure!

What an incredible morning at Hillcrest Hiking Trails!

The Kestrels Patrol tackled the trails with plenty of fun, laughter, adventure, and non-stop singing along the way! From steep climbs to scenic views, every step was filled with teamwork, encouragement, and unforgettable memories.

Scouting isn't just about hiking, it's about building friendships, challenging yourself, and making every adventure one to remember.

A huge well done to everyone who joined in and made the day such a success. We can't wait for the next adventure!

Sharpshooter Badge – 1st Leg Complete!

A huge well done to all our Scouts who successfully completed the 1st Leg of the Sharpshooter Interest Badge!

Saturday was filled with focus, discipline, patience, and plenty of determination as Scouts put their aiming skills to the test. It was fantastic to see everyone encouraging one another while working towards their badge requirements.

Every great marksman starts with mastering the basics, and our Scouts have taken an excellent first step on their Sharpshooter journey. We are proud of the effort, concentration, and sportsmanship shown by everyone involved.

1st Leg – Done and Dusted!
Now onwards to the next challenge as we continue working towards the full Sharpshooter Interest Badge.

🥋 Patrol Leaders Take Charge at Self-Defence Night! 🥋

What an action-packed evening of learning, leadership, and teamwork!

Our Patrol Leaders had the exciting opportunity to be trained by special guest instructors in a range of self-defence techniques. Once they had mastered the skills, they stepped up to the challenge and passed their knowledge on to their patrol members.

From learning how to stay aware of their surroundings to practising practical self-defence moves, everyone got involved and gained valuable skills that could help keep them safe. Most importantly, the evening showcased the true spirit of Scouting, learning by doing and leading by example.

A huge thank you to our guest instructors for sharing their expertise and helping our Scouts build confidence, resilience, and personal safety awareness.
