Yesterday was an exciting day at X-Factor Trout Farm! 🎣

We know we have a healthy population of large and smallmouth yellowfish in our Edenvale quarry, and lately the dam has been full of activity. Schools of fish have been cruising the shallows with the odd one being caught on bait, but yesterday things got even more exciting.

Small schools and single cruisers were up feeding off the surface between the kids of trout, giving anglers an incredible sight-fishing experience. Dries and nymphs produced action throughout the day with 4 fish landed between the anglers, along with missed takes, snap-offs, and plenty of refusals that kept everyone on their toes. Could there be another hidden aspect to this dam that we’ve only just discovered? 👀

The trout fishing has also been phenomenal when fishing buzzers and nymphs , with large schools of trout moving all over the dam. Fish have been ranging from around 300 grams right up to some proper 3kg overwintered beauties, making for an unforgettable session on the water.

Get ready for some exciting fishing at Trophy Dam, Lake Jordan, where the rules have changed for the season:

🎣 Trophy Dam, Lake Jordan:
- *Fly Fishing Only*on the main lake: Catch and release permitted.
- *Shop Bank:* Spin fishing allowed, catch and keep only, priced at R250 per kg.
- *No Bait Fishing* allowed!
- *No papgooi; only specimens* are permitted under strict guidelines.
- Float tubing available for a surcharge.

🏞️ *Lake Lyla:*
- All forms of fishing are welcome!
- Trout: Strictly catch and keep at R100 per fish.
