FIRST RECOVERY WITH ASSISTANCE OF DATADOT NHAR APPLICATION

On 2015-11-19 SAPS Member from the West Rand Flying Squad in Gauteng, stopped and searched a Nissan 1400 pick-up. He noticed that the vehicle was DataDotted. He removed a DataDot from the vehicle, scoped it and obtained the pin number, he logged into the National Household Asset Register (NHAR) App and obtained the vehicle’s Chassis number. When comparing it with the Chassis number on the vehicle, he noticed that it didn’t match. He then ran the Chassis number obtained through the NHAR App through the Police Circulation System and found the Chassis number to be reported as being stolen. The vehicle was seized and impounded as per Aeroton SAP13: 2968/2015. One suspect was arrested.
