SAFEGUARDING is a whole-of-sport responsibility, and Judo has been summoned to Take the Pledge as part of Safe Sport Day tomorrow.
The International Safeguards for Children in Sport are calling on sports from around the globe to ensure coaches, officials and club leaders stand up, speak out and play their part in child safeguarding.
They ask that sports clubs embed eight basic safeguards in their operations to protect child safety, and Take the Pledge ensure sport is safe for children everywhere.

JUDO AUSTRALIA's chair, Simon Read, has congratulated our Commonwealth Games athletes and coaches on behalf of the Judo Australia board.
In a message to athletes today, Simon wrote:
"Firstly, congratulations to every member of the Australian Judo Team on an outstanding Commonwealth Games campaign.
To our athletes, coaches, support staff and team management β you have done Australia proud. The commitment, resilience and professionalism displayed throughout the competition were a credit to each of you and to our sport.
Unfortunately, I was unable to be in Glasgow as I had the privilege of walking my daughter down the aisle at her wedding here in Perth. While family came first on this occasion, I followed the results and progress as closely as I could over the three days, celebrating every success from home.
Whether you stood on the podium, achieved a personal best, or gained invaluable international experience, you have all played a part in strengthening Australian judo.
Success at this level is never achieved alone, and I want to particularly acknowledge our coaches and support staff for the countless hours invested behind the scenes.
On behalf of the Judo Australia Board, thank you for representing our country with pride and for demonstrating the values that make judo so special.
Congratulations once again β Australia is incredibly proud of you all."

Participation Manager (and Grades Administrator) Shane Alvisio is working with volunteer Project Officer Leo Matsuzaki to verify existing records and update the database.
They want individuals and clubs to check details, supply evidence and then assist in verification. Full details: https://tinyurl.com/DanRegister
